اَوْ كَصَيِّبٍ مِّنَ السَّمَاۤءِ فِيْهِ ظُلُمٰتٌ وَّرَعْدٌ وَّبَرْقٌۚ يَجْعَلُوْنَ اَصَابِعَهُمْ فِيْٓ اٰذَانِهِمْ مِّنَ الصَّوَاعِقِ حَذَرَ الْمَوْتِۗ وَاللّٰهُ مُحِيْطٌۢ بِالْكٰفِرِيْنَ ( البقرة: ١٩ )
Aw kasaiyibim minas samaaa'i feehi zulumaatunw wa ra'dunw wa barq, yaj'aloona asaabi'ahum feee aazaanihim minas sawaa'iqi hazaral mawt' wallaahu muheetum bilkaafireen (al-Baq̈arah 2:19)
English Sahih:
Or [it is] like a rainstorm from the sky within which is darkness, thunder and lightning. They put their fingers in their ears against the thunderclaps in dread of death. But Allah is encompassing of the disbelievers. (Al-Baqarah [2] : 19)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
അല്ലെങ്കില് മറ്റൊരുപമയിതാ: മാനത്തുനിന്നുള്ള പെരുമഴ. അതില് ഇരുളും ഇടിമുഴക്കവും മിന്നല്പ്പിണരുമുണ്ട്. മേഘഗര്ജനം കേട്ട് മരണഭീതിയാല് അവര് ചെവികളില് വിരലുകള് തിരുകുന്നു. അല്ലാഹു സത്യനിഷേധികളെ സദാ വലയം ചെയ്യുന്നവനത്രെ. (അല്ബഖറ [2] : 19)

അല്ലെങ്കില് (അവരെ) ഉപമിക്കാവുന്നത് ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു ചൊരിയുന്ന ഒരു പേമാരിയോടാകുന്നു. അതോടൊപ്പം കൂരിരുട്ടും ഇടിയും മിന്നലുമുണ്ട്. ഇടിനാദങ്ങള് നിമിത്തം മരണം ഭയന്ന് അവര് വിരലുകള് ചെവിയില് തിരുകുന്നു. എന്നാല് അല്ലാഹു (അവനിൽ) അവിശ്വസിച്ചവരെ വലയം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുകയാണ്.
