لَآ اِكْرَاهَ فِى الدِّيْنِۗ قَدْ تَّبَيَّنَ الرُّشْدُ مِنَ الْغَيِّ ۚ فَمَنْ يَّكْفُرْ بِالطَّاغُوْتِ وَيُؤْمِنْۢ بِاللّٰهِ فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقٰى لَا انْفِصَامَ لَهَا ۗوَاللّٰهُ سَمِيْعٌ عَلِيْمٌ ( البقرة: ٢٥٦ )
Laaa ikraaha fid deeni qat tabiyanar rushdu minal ghayy; famai yakfur bit Taaghooti wa yu'mim billaahi faqadis tamsaka bil'urwatil wusqaa lan fisaama lahaa; wallaahu Samee'un 'Aleem (al-Baq̈arah 2:256)
English Sahih:
There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become distinct from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing. (Al-Baqarah [2] : 256)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
മതത്തില് ബലപ്രയോഗം അരുത്. നന്മതിന്മകളുടെ വഴികള് വ്യക്തമായും വേര്തിരിഞ്ഞുകഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. അതിനാല് വ്യാജ ദൈവങ്ങളെ നിഷേധിക്കുകയും അല്ലാഹുവില് വിശ്വസിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന് മുറുകെപ്പിടിച്ചത് ഉറപ്പുള്ള കയറിലാണ്. അതറ്റുപോവില്ല. അല്ലാഹു എല്ലാം കേള്ക്കുന്നവനും അറിയുന്നവനുമാകുന്നു. (അല്ബഖറ [2] : 256)

മതത്തിന്റെ കാര്യത്തില് ബലപ്രയോഗമേ ഇല്ല. സന്മാര്ഗം ദുര്മാര്ഗത്തില് നിന്ന് വ്യക്തമായി വേര്തിരിഞ്ഞ് കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. ആകയാല് ഏതൊരാള് ദുര്മൂര്ത്തികളെ അവിശ്വസിക്കുകയും അല്ലാഹുവില് വിശ്വസിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നുവോ അവന് പിടിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത് ബലമുള്ള ഒരു കയറിലാകുന്നു. അത് പൊട്ടിപോവുകയേ ഇല്ല. അല്ലാഹു (എല്ലാം) കേള്ക്കുന്നവനും അറിയുന്നവനുമാകുന്നു.
