اَوَلَمْ يَسِيْرُوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرُوْا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْۗ كَانُوْٓا اَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَّاَثَارُوا الْاَرْضَ وَعَمَرُوْهَآ اَكْثَرَ مِمَّا عَمَرُوْهَا وَجَاۤءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنٰتِۗ فَمَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلٰكِنْ كَانُوْٓا اَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُوْنَۗ ( الروم: ٩ )
Awalm yaseeroo fil ardi fa-yanzuroo kaifa kaana 'aaqibatul lazeena min qablihim; kaanooo ashadda minhhum quwwatanw wa asaarul arda wa 'amaroohaaa aksara mimmaa 'amaroohaa wa jaaa'athum Rusuluhum bil baiyinaati famaa kaanal laahu liyazli mahum wa laakin kaanooo anfusahum yazlimoon (ar-Rūm 30:9)
English Sahih:
Have they not traveled through the earth and observed how was the end of those before them? They were greater than them in power, and they plowed [or excavated] the earth and built it up more than they [i.e., the Makkans] have built it up, and their messengers came to them with clear evidences. And Allah would not ever have wronged them, but they were wronging themselves. (Ar-Rum [30] : 9)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
അവര് ഭൂമിയിലൂടെ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നില്ലേ? അങ്ങനെ അവര്ക്കുമുമ്പുള്ളവരുടെ അന്ത്യം എവ്വിധമായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് നോക്കിക്കാണുന്നില്ലേ? അവര് ഇവരെക്കാളേറെ കരുത്തരായിരുന്നു. അവര് ഭൂമിയെ നന്നായി കിളച്ചുമറിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഇവരതിനെ വാസയോഗ്യമാക്കിയതിനെക്കാള് പാര്ക്കാന് പറ്റുന്നതാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. അവര്ക്കുള്ള ദൂതന്മാര് വ്യക്തമായ തെളിവുകളുമായി അവരെ സമീപിച്ചു. അല്ലാഹു അവരോട് അക്രമം കാണിക്കുകയായിരുന്നില്ല. മറിച്ച് അവര് തങ്ങളോടുതന്നെ അക്രമം കാട്ടുകയായിരുന്നു. (അര്റൂം [30] : 9)

അവര് ഭൂമിയിലൂടെ സഞ്ചരിച്ചിട്ട് തങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പുള്ളവരുടെ പര്യവസാനം എങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നു എന്ന് നോക്കുന്നില്ലേ? അവര് ഇവരേക്കാള് കൂടുതല് ശക്തിയുള്ളവരായിരുന്നു. അവര് ഭൂമി ഉഴുതുമറിക്കുകയും, ഇവര് അധിവാസമുറപ്പിച്ചതിനെക്കാള് കൂടുതല് അതില് അധിവാസമുറപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. നമ്മുടെ ദൂതന്മാര് വ്യക്തമായ തെളിവുകളും കൊണ്ട് അവരുടെ അടുത്ത് ചെല്ലുകയുണ്ടായി. എന്നാല് അല്ലാഹു അവരോട് അക്രമം ചെയ്യുകയുണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല. പക്ഷെ, അവര് തങ്ങളോടു തന്നെ അക്രമം ചെയ്യുകയായിരുന്നു.
