اِنَّ هٰذَآ اَخِيْ ۗ لَهٗ تِسْعٌ وَّتِسْعُوْنَ نَعْجَةً وَّلِيَ نَعْجَةٌ وَّاحِدَةٌ ۗفَقَالَ اَكْفِلْنِيْهَا وَعَزَّنِيْ فِى الْخِطَابِ ( ص: ٢٣ )
inna hādhā
إِنَّ هَٰذَآ
Indeed this
നിശ്ചയമായും ഇതു, ഇവന്‍
akhī
أَخِى
(is) my brother
എന്റെ സഹോദരനാണ്
lahu
لَهُۥ
he has
അവനുണ്ട്
tis'ʿun watis'ʿūna
تِسْعٌ وَتِسْعُونَ
ninety-nine ninety-nine
തൊണ്ണൂറ്റൊമ്പതു
naʿjatan
نَعْجَةً
ewe(s)
പിടയാട്, പെണ്ണാട്
waliya
وَلِىَ
while I have
എനിക്കുണ്ട്
naʿjatun wāḥidatun
نَعْجَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ
ewe one
ഒരേ പിടയാട്
faqāla
فَقَالَ
so he said
എന്നിട്ടവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു
akfil'nīhā
أَكْفِلْنِيهَا
"Entrust her to me"
നീ അതിനെ എനിക്കു ഏല്‍പ്പിച്ചു (വിട്ടു) തരണം
waʿazzanī
وَعَزَّنِى
and he overpowered me
അവന് എന്നെ വെല്ലുക (ജയിക്കുക)യും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു
fī l-khiṭābi
فِى ٱلْخِطَابِ
in [the] speech"
അഭിമുഖ സംസാരത്തില്‍
Inna haazaaa akhee lahoo tis'unw wa tis'oona na'jatanw wa liya na'jatunw waahidah; faqaala akfilneeha wa 'azzanee filkhitaab (Ṣād 38:23)
English Sahih:
Indeed this, my brother, has ninety-nine ewes, and I have one ewe; so he said, 'Entrust her to me,' and he overpowered me in speech." (Sad [38] : 23)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
''ഇതാ, ഇവനെന്റെ സഹോദരനാണ്. ഇവന്ന് തൊണ്ണൂറ്റൊമ്പത് പെണ്ണാടുണ്ട്. എനിക്കൊരു പെണ്ണാടും. എന്നിട്ടും ഇവന്‍ പറയുന്നു, അതുംകൂടി തനിക്ക് ഏല്‍പിച്ചുതരണമെന്ന്. വര്‍ത്തമാനത്തില്‍ ഇവനെന്നെ തോല്‍പിക്കുകയാണ്.'' (സ്വാദ് [38] : 23)
