فَمَنْ لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ يَّتَمَاۤسَّاۗ فَمَنْ لَّمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَاِطْعَامُ سِتِّيْنَ مِسْكِيْنًاۗ ذٰلِكَ لِتُؤْمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖۗ وَتِلْكَ حُدُوْدُ اللّٰهِ ۗوَلِلْكٰفِرِيْنَ عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ ( المجادلة: ٤ )
Famal lam yajid fa siyaamu shahraini mutataabi'ayni min qabli any-yatamaaassaa famal lam yastati' fa-it'aamu sitteena miskeena; zaalika litu'minoo billaahi wa rasoolih'wa tilka hudoodul laah; wa lilkaafireena 'azaabun aleem (al-Mujādilah 58:4)
English Sahih:
And he who does not find [a slave] – then a fast for two months consecutively before they touch one another; and he who is unable – then the feeding of sixty poor persons. That is for you to believe [completely] in Allah and His Messenger; and those are the limits [set by] Allah. And for the disbelievers is a painful punishment. (Al-Mujadila [58] : 4)

ആര്ക്കെങ്കിലും അടിമയെ കിട്ടുന്നില്ലെങ്കില് അവര് ശാരീരിക ബന്ധം പുലര്ത്തും മുമ്പെ പുരുഷന് രണ്ടു മാസം തുടര്ച്ചയായി നോമ്പനുഷ്ഠിക്കണം. ആര്ക്കെങ്കിലും അതിനും കഴിയാതെ വരുന്നുവെങ്കില് അയാള് അറുപത് അഗതികള്ക്ക് അന്നം നല്കണം. നിങ്ങള് അല്ലാഹുവിലും അവന്റെ ദൂതനിലുമുള്ള വിശ്വാസം സംരക്ഷിക്കാനാണിത്. അല്ലാഹു നിശ്ചയിച്ച ചിട്ടകളാണിവ. സത്യനിഷേധികള്ക്ക് നോവേറിയ ശിക്ഷയുണ്ട്. (അല്മുജാദല [58] : 4)

ഇനി വല്ലവന്നും (അടിമയെ) ലഭിക്കാത്ത പക്ഷം, അവര് പരസ്പരം സ്പര്ശിക്കുന്നതിന് മുമ്പായി തുടര്ച്ചയായി രണ്ടുമാസക്കാലം നോമ്പനുഷ്ഠിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. വല്ലവന്നും (അത്) സാധ്യമാകാത്ത പക്ഷം അറുപതു അഗതികള്ക്ക് ആഹാരം നല്കേണ്ടതാണ്. അത് അല്ലാഹുവിലും അവന്റെ ദൂതനിലും നിങ്ങള് വിശ്വസിക്കാന് വേണ്ടിയത്രെ. അവ അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ പരിധികളാകുന്നു. സത്യനിഷേധികള്ക്ക് വേദനയേറിയ ശിക്ഷയുണ്ട്.
