قَالَ الْمَلَاُ الَّذِيْنَ اسْتَكْبَرُوْا مِنْ قَوْمِهٖ لِلَّذِيْنَ اسْتُضْعِفُوْا لِمَنْ اٰمَنَ مِنْهُمْ اَتَعْلَمُوْنَ اَنَّ صٰلِحًا مُّرْسَلٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّهٖۗ قَالُوْٓا اِنَّا بِمَآ اُرْسِلَ بِهٖ مُؤْمِنُوْنَ ( الأعراف: ٧٥ )
Qaalal mala ul lazeenas takbaroo min qawmihee lillazeenas tud'ifoo liman aamana minhum ata'almoona anna Saaliham mursalum mir Rabbih; qaalooo innaa bimaaa ursila bihee mu'minoon (al-ʾAʿrāf 7:75)
English Sahih:
Said the eminent ones who were arrogant among his people to those who were oppressed – to those who believed among them, "Do you [actually] know that Saleh is sent from his Lord?" They said, "Indeed we, in that with which he was sent, are believers." (Al-A'raf [7] : 75)

അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ജനതയിലെ അഹങ്കാരികളായ പ്രമാണിമാര് അവരിലെ ദുര്ബലരോട് അഥവാ അവരിലെ വിശ്വസിച്ചവരോട് ചോദിച്ചു: ''സ്വാലിഹ് തന്റെ നാഥന് നിയോഗിച്ച ദൂതന് തന്നെയാണെന്ന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കുറപ്പുണ്ടോ?'' അവര് അറിയിച്ചു: ''അദ്ദേഹം ഞങ്ങളിലേക്കു വന്നത് ഏതൊരു സന്ദേശവുമായാണോ അതില് വിശ്വസിച്ചവരാണ് ഞങ്ങള്; സംശയമില്ല.'' (അല്അഅ്റാഫ് [7] : 75)

അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ജനതയില് പെട്ട അഹങ്കാരികളായ പ്രമാണിമാര് ബലഹീനരായി കരുതപ്പെട്ടവരോട് (അതായത്) അവരില് നിന്ന് വിശ്വസിച്ചവരോട് പറഞ്ഞു: സ്വാലിഹ് തന്റെ രക്ഷിതാവിങ്കല് നിന്ന് അയക്കപ്പെട്ട ആള് തന്നെയാണെന്ന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കറിയുമോ? അവര് പറഞ്ഞു: അദ്ദേഹം ഏതൊന്നുമായി അയക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നുവോ അതില് ഞങ്ങള് തീര്ച്ചയായും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവരാണ്.
