يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مَا لَكُمْ اِذَا قِيْلَ لَكُمُ انْفِرُوْا فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ اثَّاقَلْتُمْ اِلَى الْاَرْضِۗ اَرَضِيْتُمْ بِالْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَا مِنَ الْاٰخِرَةِۚ فَمَا مَتَاعُ الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَا فِى الْاٰخِرَةِ اِلَّا قَلِيْلٌ ( التوبة: ٣٨ )
Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo maa lakum izaa qeela lakumun firoo fee sabeelil laahis saaqaltum ilal ard; aradeetum bilhayaatid dunyaa minal Aakhirah; famaa ma taaul hayaatiddunyaa fil Aakhirati illaa qaleel (at-Tawbah 9:38)
Abdul Hameed Baqavi:
நம்பிக்கையாளர்களே! அல்லாஹ்வுடைய பாதையில் (போர் புரிய) நீங்கள் புறப்படுங்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குக் கூறப்பட்டால் (அவ்வாறு புறப்படாமல்) நீங்கள் ஊரில் தங்கிவிடுவதன் காரணம் என்ன? மறுமையைவிட இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையைக் கொண்டு நீங்கள் திருப்தியடைந்து விட்டீர்களா? மறுமை(யின் வாழ்க்கை)க்கு முன்பாக இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கை வெகு அற்பமானதே!
English Sahih:
O you who have believed, what is [the matter] with you that, when you are told to go forth in the cause of Allah, you adhere heavily to the earth? Are you satisfied with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? But what is the enjoyment of worldly life compared to the Hereafter except a [very] little. ([9] At-Tawbah : 38)

ஈமான் கொண்டவர்களே! அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையில் (போருக்குப் புறப்பட்டுச்) செல்லுங்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குக் கூறப்பட்டால், நீங்கள் பூமியின் பக்கம் சாய்ந்து விடுகிறீர்களே உங்களுக்கு என்ன நேர்ந்து விட்டது? மறுமையைவிட இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையைக் கொண்டே நீங்கள் திருப்தியடைந்து விட்டீர்களா? மறுமை(யின் வாழ்க்கை)க்கு முன்பு இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையின் இன்பம் மிகவும் அற்பமானது.
