هَلْ يَنْظُرُوْنَ اِلَّآ اَنْ تَأْتِيَهُمُ الْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةُ اَوْ يَأْتِيَ اَمْرُ رَبِّكَ ۗ كَذٰلِكَ فَعَلَ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۗوَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ اللّٰهُ وَلٰكِنْ كَانُوْٓا اَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُوْنَ   ( النحل: ٣٣ )

(should) come to them

ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
the Angels

yatiya
يَأْتِىَ
(should) come
amru
أَمْرُ
(the) Command
rabbika
رَبِّكَۚ
(of) your Lord?
kadhālika
كَذَٰلِكَ
Thus
faʿala
فَعَلَ
did
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
min
مِن
(were) before them
qablihim
قَبْلِهِمْۚ
(were) before them
wamā
وَمَا
And not
ẓalamahumu
ظَلَمَهُمُ
wronged them
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
walākin
وَلَٰكِن
but
kānū
كَانُوٓا۟
they were
anfusahum
أَنفُسَهُمْ
themselves
yaẓlimūna
يَظْلِمُونَ
wronging

Hal yanzuroona illaaa an taatiyahumul malaaa'ikatu aw yaatiya amru Rabbik; kazaalika fa'alal lazeena min qablihim; wa maa zalamahumul laahu wa laakin kaanoo anfusahum yazlimoon (an-Naḥl 16:33)

Sahih International:

Do they [i.e., the disbelievers] await except that the angels should come to them or there comes the command of your Lord? Thus did those do before them. And Allah wronged them not, but they had been wronging themselves. (An-Nahl [16] : 33)

1 Mufti Taqi Usmani

They (the unbelievers) are waiting for nothing but that the angels should come to them, or comes the command of your Lord. Similar was the reaction of those who were before them. Allah did not wrong them; rather they were doing wrong to themselves.
