Al-Mu'minun Verse 54

So leave them ˹O Prophet˺ in their heedlessness for a while.

So leave them in their heedlessness for a while.

So leave thou them in their perplexity for a time.

So [Muhammad] leave them for a while steeped [in their ignorance].

Wherefore leave thou them in their bewilderment for a season.

But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time.

So leave them immersed in their heedlessness till an appointed time.

So leave them to their ignorance for a time.

So leave them in their intoxication till a time.

So leave them in their stupor for a while.

So (if they, despite all the evidence We have put forth in support of the truth of the Message that you, O Messenger, are conveying to them, still refuse to accept it), leave them alone, immersed in their ignorance and heedlessness until an appointed time.

So leave them in their utter confusion (due to their ignorance) for a time.

So leave them in their ignorance/hatred until a time/period of time.

So leave them in their intoxication till a time.

But they (mankind) have broken their religion (or affair) between them into sects, each sect rejoicing in its own tenets.

So leave them in their error for a time.

But they became divided into sects, each party rejoicing in that which was with them.

Therefore leave them in their overwhelming ignorance till

So leave them in their error till a time.

(Muhammad), leave them alone in their dark ignorance for an appointed time.

Leave them in their perplexity for a time.

So, leave them in their error for a time.

So leave them in their bewilderment for a while.

So leave them in their bewilderment until a time.

So leave them, the disbelievers of Mecca, in their error, their misguidance, for a while, until they die.

فَذَرْهُمْ فِي غَمْرَتِهِمْ

So, leave them in their error,

meaning their misguidance,

حَتَّى حِينٍ



for a time.

means, until the appointed time of their destruction comes.

This is like the Ayah;

فَمَهِّلِ الْكَـفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْداً

So give a respite to the disbelievers; deal gently with them for a while. (86;17)

And Allah says;

ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُواْ وَيَتَمَتَّعُواْ وَيُلْهِهِمُ الاٌّمَلُ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ

Leave them to eat and enjoy, and let them be preoccupied with (false) hope. They will come to know! (15;3)

أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُم بِهِ مِن مَّالٍ وَبَنِينَ
