Ash-Shu'ara Verse 153

They replied, “You are simply bewitched!

They said, “You are but one of those who are bewitched!

They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched;

They said, ‘You are bewitched!

They said: thou art but one of the bewitched;

They said; "Thou art only one of those bewitched!

They replied: "You are nothing but one of those who are bewitched;

They said: "Surely you are deluded.

They said, “You are under a magic spell.”

They said, ‘Indeed you are one of the bewitched.

They responded: "You are only one of those who are bewitched.

They said, `You are merely one of those (mortals) who are (dependent on being) given food.

They said: "Truly/but you are from the bewitched/enchanted."

They said, “You are under a magic spell.”

"Who spread corruption in the earth and mend not their ways."

They said: "You are only of those bewitched!

And obey not the bidding of the extravagant,

They said: You are only of the deluded ones;

They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched;

They said, "You are only bewitched and insane.

They replied: 'Surely, you are one of those bewitched.

They said: "You are only of those bewitched!"

They replied, "Surely you are bewitched.

They said, “You are surely one of the bewitched.

They said, `You are indeed one of the bewitched, those who have succumbed so many times to sorcery that their minds have been overcome.

The Response of Thamud, Their Demand for a Sign, and Their Punishment

Allah tells us how Thamud responded to their Prophet Salih, upon him be peace, when he called them to worship their Lord, may He be glorified.

قَالُوا إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مِنَ الْمُسَحَّرِينَ



They said;"You are only of those bewitched!"

Mujahid said,

"They meant he was one affected by witchcraft."
