Ash-Shu'ara Verse 205

Imagine ˹O Prophet˺ if We allowed them enjoyment for years,

Tell me [O Prophet] if We give them a life of ease for years,

What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years,

Think, if we let them enjoy this life for some years

Beholdest thou? - if We let them enjoy for years.

Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years,

Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years

Just think: If We let them enjoy (the good things of life) for a few years more,

Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, –

Tell me, should We let them enjoy for some years,

Have you considered that, if We let them enjoy life for many (more) years (– something they will desperately wish for when they face the punishment),

Do you not see that even if We let them enjoy (worldly bounties) for some more years,

So did you see if We gave them long life/made them enjoy years?

Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, -

What! Do they wish to hasten on Our penalty?

Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years,

Then they will say: Shall we be respited?

Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years,

Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years,

Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years

What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years,

Think, if We do let them enjoy for years,

Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years,

Have you considered: if We let them enjoy themselves for some years.

Consider [this] then -- inform Me; If We were to let them enjoy [life] for [many] years,

ثُمَّ جَاءهُم مَّا كَانُوا يُوعَدُونَ
