As-Saffat Verse 57

Had it not been for the grace of my Lord, I ˹too˺ would have certainly been among those brought ˹to Hell˺.”

Were it not for the grace of my Lord, I would have been among those who are brought [to Hell].”

But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned.

Had it not been for the grace of my Lord, I too would have been taken to Hell.’

And but for the favourcf my lord, I should have been of those brought forward.

"Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)!

But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here.

Had it not been for the grace of my Lord I too would have been there (in Hell).

“And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!”

Had it not been for my Lord’s blessing, I too would have been among those mustered [in hell]!’

"Had it not been for the grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those arraigned (in the Flame for punishment)."

`But for the favour and grace of my Lord, I would have also been one of those who are facing (the punishment today).´

And where it not for my Lord`s blessing/goodness I would have been from the made present/attending

“And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!”

And had it not been for the grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought there

"Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)."

He will say: By Allah! thou hadst almost caused me to perish;

And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up.

And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom).

Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment".

But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell).

"Had it not been for the grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)."

If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell."

Were it not for the grace of my Lord, I would have been among the arraigned.”

And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, His grace to me in giving me faith, I [too] would have been of those arraigned', with you, in the Fire. The inhabitants of Paradise will say;

Had it not been for the grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell).

means, `Were it not for the favor of my Lord towards me, I would have been like you in the middle of Hell where you are, brought forth with you for punishment. But He bestowed His grace upon me, had mercy upon me and guided me to faith and to belief in Him Alone.'

وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِىَ لَوْلا أَنْ هَدَانَا اللَّهُ

and never could we have found guidance, were it not that Allah had guided us! (7;43)

أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ

Had it not been", he will say, "for Allah's mercy and grace l would have been among those dragged and hauled over the flames in the pit of Hell
