يَّسْمَعُ اٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ تُتْلٰى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يُصِرُّ مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَاَنْ لَّمْ يَسْمَعْهَاۚ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ اَلِيْمٍ ( الجاثية: ٨ )
Yasma'u Aayaatil laahi tutlaa 'alaihi summa yusirru mustakbiran ka-al lam yasma'haa fabashshirhu bi'azaabin aleem (al-Jāthiyah 45:8)
Who hears the verses of Allah recited to him, then persists arrogantly as if he had not heard them. So give him tidings of a painful punishment. (Al-Jathiyah  : 8)

who hears Allah’s verses being recited to him, then he remains adamant out of arrogance, as if he never heard them. So give him the ‘good news’ of a painful punishment.
