اَفَمَنْ كَانَ عَلٰى بَيِّنَةٍ مِّنْ رَّبِّهٖ كَمَنْ زُيِّنَ لَهٗ سُوْۤءُ عَمَلِهٖ وَاتَّبَعُوْٓا اَهْوَاۤءَهُمْ   ( محمد: ١٤ )

afaman
أَفَمَن
Then is (he) who

bayyinatin
بَيِّنَةٍ
a clear proof
min
مِّن
from
rabbihi
رَّبِّهِۦ
his Lord
kaman
كَمَن
like (he) who
zuyyina
زُيِّنَ
is made attractive
lahu
لَهُۥ
for him
sūu
سُوٓءُ
(the) evil
ʿamalihi
عَمَلِهِۦ
(of) his deeds
wa-ittabaʿū
وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟
while they follow
ahwāahum
أَهْوَآءَهُم
their desires

Afaman kaana 'alaa baiyinatim mir Rabbihee kaman zuyyina lahoo sooo'u 'amalihee wattaba'ooo ahwaaa'ahum (Muḥammad 47:14)

Sahih International:

So is he who is on clear evidence from his Lord like him to whom the evil of his work has been made attractive and they follow their [own] desires? (Muhammad [47] : 14)

1 Mufti Taqi Usmani

Then, can one who holds on to a clear proof from his Lord be like those for whom their evil deeds are beautified, and who followed their desires?
