بَلْ ظَنَنْتُمْ اَنْ لَّنْ يَّنْقَلِبَ الرَّسُوْلُ وَالْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ اِلٰٓى اَهْلِيْهِمْ اَبَدًا وَّزُيِّنَ ذٰلِكَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِكُمْ وَظَنَنْتُمْ ظَنَّ السَّوْءِۚ وَكُنْتُمْ قَوْمًاۢ بُوْرًا   ( الفتح: ١٢ )

Nay

يَنقَلِبَ

l-rasūlu
ٱلرَّسُولُ
the Messenger
wal-mu'minūna
وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
and the believers
ilā
إِلَىٰٓ

ahlīhim
أَهْلِيهِمْ
their families
abadan
أَبَدًا
ever
wazuyyina
وَزُيِّنَ
that was made fair-seeming
dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
that was made fair-seeming
فِى
in
qulūbikum
قُلُوبِكُمْ
your hearts
waẓanantum
وَظَنَنتُمْ
And you assumed
ẓanna
ظَنَّ
an assumption
l-sawi
ٱلسَّوْءِ
evil
wakuntum
وَكُنتُمْ
and you became
qawman
قَوْمًۢا
a people
būran
بُورًا
ruined"

Bal zanantum al lany yanqalibar Rasoolu walmu'minoona ilaaa ahleehim abadanw wa zuyyina zaalika fee quloobikum wa zanantum zannnas saw'i wa kuntum qawmam booraa (al-Fatḥ 48:12)

Sahih International:

But you thought that the Messenger and the believers would never return to their families, ever, and that was made pleasing in your hearts. And you assumed an assumption of evil and became a people ruined." (Al-Fath [48] : 12)

1 Mufti Taqi Usmani

But you thought that the Messenger and the believers would never ever return to their families, and it seemed good to your hearts, and you thought an evil thought and became a people who are ruined (by their selfishness).”
