قَالَ اَغَيْرَ اللّٰهِ اَبْغِيْكُمْ اِلٰهًا وَّهُوَ فَضَّلَكُمْ عَلَى الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ( الأعراف: ١٤٠ )
qāla
قَالَ
He said
aghayra
أَغَيْرَ
"Should other than
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
abghīkum
أَبْغِيكُمْ
I seek for you
ilāhan
إِلَٰهًا
a god
wahuwa
وَهُوَ
while He
faḍḍalakum
فَضَّلَكُمْ
has preferred you
ʿalā
عَلَى
over
l-ʿālamīna
ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
the worlds?"
Qaala a-ghairal laahi abgheekum ilaahanw wa Huwa faddalakum 'alal 'aalameen (al-ʾAʿrāf 7:140)
Sahih International:
He said, "Is it other than Allah I should desire for you as a god while He has preferred you over the worlds?" (Al-A'raf [7] : 140)
1 Mufti Taqi Usmani
He said, “Shall I seek any one other than Allah as God for you, while He has given you excellence over the (people of all the) worlds.”
