وَالَّذِيْنَ يُظٰهِرُوْنَ مِنْ نِّسَاۤىِٕهِمْ ثُمَّ يَعُوْدُوْنَ لِمَا قَالُوْا فَتَحْرِيْرُ رَقَبَةٍ مِّنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ يَّتَمَاۤسَّاۗ ذٰلِكُمْ تُوْعَظُوْنَ بِهٖۗ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ خَبِيْرٌ ( المجادلة: ٣ )
Wallazeena yuzaahiroona min nisaaa'ihim summa ya'oodoona limaa qaaloo fatabreeru raqabatim min qabli any-yatamaaassaa; zaalikum too'azoona bih; wallaahu bimaa ta'maloona khabeer (al-Mujādilah 58:3)
English Sahih:
And those who pronounce thihar from their wives and then [wish to] go back on what they said – then [there must be] the freeing of a slave before they touch one another. That is what you are admonished thereby; and Allah is Aware of what you do. (Al-Mujadila [58] : 3)
Muhammad Hamidullah:
Ceux qui comparent leurs femmes au dos de leurs mères puis reviennent sur ce qu'ils ont dit, doivent affranchir un esclave avant d'avoir aucun contact [conjugal] avec leur femme. C'est ce dont on vous exhorte. Et Allah est Parfaitement Connaisseur de ce que vous faites (Al-Mujadalah [58] : 3)

Ceux qui prononcent ces paroles horribles puis désirent avoir des rapports intimes avec la femme contre qui ils les ont prononcées, doivent s’acquitter d’une expiation correspondant à l’affranchissement d’un esclave avant d’avoir ces rapports intimes. Il vous est ordonné cela afin de vous dissuader de prononcer le ẓihâr. Allah sait le mieux ce que vous faites et rien de vos agissements ne Lui est inconnu.
