۞ وَقَضٰى رَبُّكَ اَلَّا تَعْبُدُوْٓا اِلَّآ اِيَّاهُ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ اِحْسٰنًاۗ اِمَّا يَبْلُغَنَّ عِنْدَكَ الْكِبَرَ اَحَدُهُمَآ اَوْ كِلٰهُمَا فَلَا تَقُلْ لَّهُمَآ اُفٍّ وَّلَا تَنْهَرْهُمَا وَقُلْ لَّهُمَا قَوْلًا كَرِيْمًا ( الإسراء: ٢٣ )
Wa qadaa Rabbuka allaa ta'budooo illaaa iyyaahu wa bilwaalidaini ihsaanaa; immaa yablughanna 'indakal kibara ahaduhumaaa aw kilaahumaa falaa taqul lahumaaa uffinw wa laa tanharhumaa wa qullahumaa qawlan kareemaa (al-ʾIsrāʾ 17:23)
English Sahih:
And your Lord has decreed that you worship not except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. (Al-Isra [17] : 23)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
നിന്റെ നാഥന് വിധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു: നിങ്ങള് അവനെയല്ലാതെ വഴിപ്പെടരുത്. മാതാപിതാക്കള്ക്ക് നന്മ ചെയ്യുക. അവരില് ഒരാളോ രണ്ടുപേരുമോ വാര്ധക്യം ബാധിച്ച് നിന്നോടൊപ്പമുണ്ടെങ്കില് അവരോട് 'ഛെ' എന്നുപോലും പറയരുത്. പരുഷമായി സംസാരിക്കരുത്. ഇരുവരോടും ആദരവോടെ സംസാരിക്കുക. (അല്ഇസ്റാഅ് [17] : 23)

തന്നെയല്ലാതെ നിങ്ങള് ആരാധിക്കരുതെന്നും, മാതാപിതാക്കള്ക്ക് നന്മ ചെയ്യണമെന്നും നിന്റെ രക്ഷിതാവ് വിധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അവരില് (മാതാപിതാക്കളില്) ഒരാളോ അവര് രണ്ട് പേരും തന്നെയോ നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വെച്ച് വാര്ദ്ധക്യം പ്രാപിക്കുകയാണെങ്കില് അവരോട് നീ 'ഛെ' എന്ന് പറയുകയോ, അവരോട് കയര്ക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യരുത്. അവരോട് നീ മാന്യമായ വാക്ക് പറയുക.
