وَلَقَدْ اَهْلَكْنَا مَا حَوْلَكُمْ مِّنَ الْقُرٰى وَصَرَّفْنَا الْاٰيٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُوْنَ ( الأحقاف: ٢٧ )
And certainly
وَلَقَدْ
திட்டவட்டமாக
We destroyed
أَهْلَكْنَا
நாம் அழித்தோம்
what surrounds you
مَا حَوْلَكُم
உங்களை சுற்றி உள்ளவற்றை
of the towns
مِّنَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ
ஊர்களில்
and We have diversified
وَصَرَّفْنَا
இன்னும் நாம் விவரித்தோம்
the Signs
ٱلْءَايَٰتِ
அத்தாட்சிகளை
that they may return
لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
அவர்கள் திரும்புவதற்காக
Wa laqad ahlaknaa ma hawlakum minal quraa wa sarrafnal Aayaati la'allahum yarji'oon (al-ʾAḥq̈āf 46:27)
Abdul Hameed Baqavi:
உங்களைச் சூழ்ந்து (வசித்து) இருந்த ஊரார்களையும் நிச்சயமாக நாம் அழித்துவிட்டோம். அவர்கள் (பாவத்திலிருந்து விலகி நம்மிடம்) திரும்பி வரும் பொருட்டுப் பல அத்தாட்சிகளை (ஒன்றன்பின் ஒன்றாக) நாம் காண்பித்து வந்தோம். (எனினும், அவைகளை அவர்கள் பொருட்படுத்தவே இல்லை. ஆதலால், நாம் அவர்களை அழித்துவிட்டோம்.)
English Sahih:
And We have already destroyed what surrounds you of [those] cities, and We have diversified the signs [or verses] that perhaps they might return [from disbelief]. ([46] Al-Ahqaf : 27)
