فَلَوْلَآ اِذْ جَاۤءَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا تَضَرَّعُوْا وَلٰكِنْ قَسَتْ قُلُوْبُهُمْ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطٰنُ مَا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ ( الأنعام: ٤٣ )
Then why not when
فَلَوْلَآ إِذْ
வேண்டாமா?/போது
came to them
جَآءَهُم
வந்தது/அவர்களுக்கு
Our punishment
بَأْسُنَا
நம் வேதனை
they humbled themselves?
تَضَرَّعُوا۟
பணிந்தனர்
But became hardened
وَلَٰكِن قَسَتْ
எனினும்/இறுகின
their hearts
قُلُوبُهُمْ
உள்ளங்கள்/அவர்களுடைய
and made fair-seeming
وَزَيَّنَ
இன்னும் அலங்கரித்தான்
to them
لَهُمُ
அவர்களுக்கு
the Shaitaan
ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ
ஷைத்தான்
what they used to do
مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
எதை/இருந்தனர்/செய்கின்றனர்
Falaw laaa iz jaaa'ahum baasunaa tadarra'oo wa laakin qasat quloobuhum wa zaiyana lahumush Shaitaanu maa kaanoo ya'maloon (al-ʾAnʿām 6:43)
Abdul Hameed Baqavi:
நம்முடைய வேதனை அவர்களிடம் வருவதற்குள் அவர்கள் பணிந்துவிட வேண்டாமா? ஆனால் அவர்களுடைய உள்ளங்கள் இறுகி விட்டன. அன்றி, அவர்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்ததையே ஷைத்தான் அவர்களுக்கு அழகாகக் காண்பித்து விட்டான்.
English Sahih:
Then why, when Our punishment came to them, did they not humble themselves? But their hearts became hardened, and Satan made attractive to them that which they were doing. ([6] Al-An'am : 43)
