Yusuf Verse 29

O  Joseph! Forget about this. And you ˹O wife˺! Seek forgiveness for your sin.[[ She was urged to seek forgiveness from her husband. ]] It certainly has been your fault.”

O Joseph, forget about this; but you [O wife], seek forgiveness for your sin, for it was you who have done wrong.”

Joseph, turn away from this; and thou, woman, ask forgiveness of thy crime; surely thou art one of the sinners.'

Joseph, overlook this; but you [wife], ask forgiveness for your sin- you have done wrong.’

Yusuf! turn away therefrom; and, thou woman! ask forgiveness for thy sin; verily thou hast been of the guilty.

"O Joseph, pass this over! (O wife), ask forgiveness for thy sin, for truly thou hast been at fault!"

Joseph, disregard this. And you - woman - ask forgiveness for your sin, for indeed it is you who has been at fault."

Ignore this affair, O Joseph; and you, O woman, ask forgiveness for your sin, for you were surely errant."

“O Yusuf! Disregard this – and O woman! Seek forgiveness for your sin; indeed you are of the mistaken.”

Joseph, let this matter alone, and you, woman, plead for forgiveness for your sin, for you have indeed been erring.’

(To Joseph) he said "Do not mention this (to anyone)." (To his wife) he said: "Ask forgiveness for your sin; for surely you have committed a sin."

(Turning to Joseph) he said, `Joseph! leave the matter alone and you (- woman) seek forgiveness for your sin. It is you, of course who are of the sinful.´

Joseph object/turn away from that, and (to her) ask for forgiveness (F) for your crime (F), that you (F) were (F) from the sinners/mistaken .

"O Yusuf! Disregard this - and O woman! Seek forgiveness for your sin; indeed you are of the mistaken."

And when he saw his shirt rent from behind he (her husband) said, "This is one of the guiles (or tricks) of you women; verily, your tricks are great!

"O Yusuf (Joseph)! Turn away from this! (O woman!) Ask forgiveness for your sin. Verily, you were of the sinful."

So when he saw his shirt rent behind, he said: Surely it is a device of you women. Your device is indeed great!

O Yusuf! turn aside from this; and (O my wife)! ask forgiveness for your fault, surely you are one of the wrong-doers.

O Joseph! Turn away from this, and thou, (O woman), ask forgiveness for thy sin. Lo! thou art of the faulty.

Joseph, stay away from such affairs and you, woman, ask forgiveness for your sin; the guilt is yours."

Joseph, turn away from this. And you, ask forgiveness for your sin. You are indeed one of the sinners'

"O Yusuf! Turn away from this! (O woman!) Ask forgiveness for your sin, verily, you were of the sinful."

Joseph, overlook this: but you [wife], ask forgiveness for your sin, for you have done wrong."

“Joseph, turn away from this. And you, woman, ask forgiveness for your sin; you are indeed in the wrong.”

Then he said; O, Joseph, ignore this, matter and do not mention it [to anyone], lest it be broadcast; and you, O Zulaykh, ask forgiveness for your sin; surely you have been of the erring', the sinful; but the tale was reported and became public.

يُوسُفُ أَعْرِضْ عَنْ هَـذَا

O Yusuf ! Turn away from this!

do not mention to anyone what has happened,

وَاسْتَغْفِرِي لِذَنبِكِ

And ask forgiveness for your sin,

addressing his wife.

The Aziz was an easy man, or gave excuse to his wife because she saw in Yusuf an appeal she could not resist. He said to her, `Ask forgiveness for your sin, the evil desire that you wanted to satisfy with this young man, and then inventing false accusations about him,'

إِنَّكِ كُنتِ مِنَ الْخَاطِيِينَ



verily, you were of the sinful.
