فَقُلْنَا اضْرِبُوْهُ بِبَعْضِهَاۗ كَذٰلِكَ يُحْيِ اللّٰهُ الْمَوْتٰى وَيُرِيْكُمْ اٰيٰتِهٖ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُوْنَ  ( البقرة: ٧٣ )

faqul'nā
فَقُلْنَا
So We said
iḍ'ribūhu
ٱضْرِبُوهُ
"Strike him
bibaʿḍihā
بِبَعْضِهَاۚ
with a part of it"
kadhālika
كَذَٰلِكَ
Like this
yuḥ'yī
يُحْىِ
revives
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
l-mawtā
ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
the dead
wayurīkum
وَيُرِيكُمْ
and shows you
āyātihi
ءَايَٰتِهِۦ
His Signs
laʿallakum
لَعَلَّكُمْ
perhaps you may
taʿqilūna
تَعْقِلُونَ
use your intellect

Faqulnad riboohu biba'dihaa; kazaalika yuhyil laa hul mawtaa wa yureekum aayaatihee la'allakum ta'qiloon (al-Baq̈arah 2:73)

Sahih International:

So We said, "Strike him [i.e., the slain man] with part of it." Thus does Allah bring the dead to life, and He shows you His signs that you might reason. (Al-Baqarah [2] : 73)

1 Mufti Taqi Usmani

So, We said, “Strike him with a part of it.” This is how Allah revives the dead; and He shows you His signs, so that you may understand.
