Ar-Rum Verse 4

within three to nine years.[[ This Meccan sûrah takes its name from the reference to the Romans in verse 2. The world’s superpowers in the early 7th century were the Roman Byzantine and Persian Empires. When they went to war in 614 C.E., the Romans suffered a devastating defeat. The Meccan pagans rejoiced at the defeat of the Roman Christians at the hands of the Persian pagans. Soon verses {30:1}-5 were revealed, stating that the Romans would be victorious in three to nine years. Eight years later, the Romans won a decisive battle against the Persians, reportedly on the same day the Muslims vanquished the Meccan army at the Battle of Badr.]] The ˹whole˺ matter rests with Allah before and after ˹victory˺. And on that day the believers will rejoice

within a few years. To Allah belongs the whole matter before and after [the victory]. On that day the believers will rejoice

in a few years. To God belongs the Command before and after, and on that day the believers shall rejoice

in a few years’ time––God is in command, first and last. On that day, the believers will rejoice

In some few years. Allah's is the command, before and after. And on that day the believers wiil rejoice.

Within a few years. With Allah is the Decision, in the past and in the Future; on that Day shall the Believers rejoice-

All power belongs to Allah both before and after. On that day will the believers rejoice

In a few years (less than ten). God's is the imperative first and last. On that day the believers will rejoice

Within a few (up to nine) years time; only for Allah is the command, before and after; and the believers will rejoice on that day.

in a few years. All command belongs to Allah, before this and hereafter, and on that day the faithful will rejoice

Within a few (nine) years – to God belongs the command (the absolute judgment and authority) both before and after (any event) – and at the time (when the Romans are victorious), the believers will rejoice,

Within three to nine years. The power belongs to Allâh after (their defeat) as (it belonged to Him) before it. And on that day the believers (too) will rejoice

In (a) few years (between 3-9), to God (is) the matter/order from before and from after, and (on) that day the believers rejoice/delight .

Within a few (up to nine) years time; only for Allah is the command, before and after; and the believers will rejoice on that day.

In a near land, and they, after being vanquished, shall be victorious,

Within three to nine years. The decision of the matter, before and after (these events) is only with Allah, (before the defeat of Romans by the Persians, and after, i.e. the defeat of the Persians by the Romans). And on that Day, the believers (i.e. Muslims) will rejoice (at the victory given by Allah to the Romans against the Persians),

The Romans are vanquished

Within a few years. Allah's is the command before and after; and on that day the believers shall rejoice,

Within ten years - Allah's is the command in the former case and in the latter - and in that day believers will rejoice

All matters of the past and future are in the hands of God. The believers will enjoy the help of God on that Day.

To Allah belongs the Command before and after, and on that Day the believers will rejoice

In Bid`i years. The decision of the matter, before and after is only with Allah. And on that day, the believers will rejoice

within a few years: [for] with God rests all power of decision, first and last. On that day the believers too will have cause to rejoice,

In a few years. The matter is up to God, in the past, and in the future. On that day, the believers will rejoice.

in a few years (bid`, [usually means] between three and nine or ten years). So the two armies met again seven years after this former encounter and the Byzantines defeated the Persians. To God belongs the command before and after, that is, before the defeat of the Byzantines and thereafter, that is to say, the Persian victory at first and the Byzantine victory later were [the result of] God's command, in other words, His will, and on that day, the day when the Byzantines will be victorious, the believers shall rejoice

بِنَصْرِ اللَّهِ يَنصُرُ مَن يَشَاء وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ
