Ar-Rum Verse 52

So you ˹O Prophet˺ certainly cannot make the dead hear ˹the truth˺. Nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs and walk away.

You cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs and walk away.

Thou shalt not make the dead to hear, neither shalt thou make the deaf to hear the call when they turn about, retreating.

You [Prophet] cannot make the dead hear and you cannot make the deaf hear your call when they turn their backs and leave;

So verily thou canst not make the dead hear, nor canst thou make the deaf hear the call when they turn away in flight.

So verily thou canst not make the dead to hear, nor canst thou make the deaf to hear the call, when they show their backs and turn away.

(O Prophet), you cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf hear your call when they turn back in retreat,

You cannot make the dead to listen nor the deaf hear the call when they have turned back and retreated,

For you do not make the dead hear nor make the deaf hear the call when they flee, turning back. (The disbelievers are referred to as dead and deaf.)

Indeed you cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs [upon you],

Indeed you cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they have turned their backs, going away.

And you cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they retreat turning their backs (on you),

So that you do not make the deads hear/listen, and nor make the deaf hear/listen the call/prayer , if they turned away giving (their) backs.

For you do not make the dead hear nor make the deaf hear the call when they flee, turning back. (The disbelievers are referred to as dead and deaf.)

And if We send a wind and they see it to yellow (scorch the crop), they would after that certainly continue in their disbelief.

So verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) cannot make the dead to hear (i.e. the disbelievers, etc.), nor can you make the deaf to hear the call, when they show their backs, turning away.

Look then at the signs of Allah’s mercy, how He gives life to the earth after its death. Surely He is the Quickener of the dead; and He is Possessor of power over all things.

For surely you cannot, make the dead to hear and you cannot make the deaf to hear the call, when they turn back and

For verily thou (Muhammad) canst not make the dead to hear, nor canst thou make the deaf to hear the call when they have turned to flee.

You cannot make the dead listen, nor the deaf hear. Thus, they, (the disbelievers), turn away on their heels.

You cannot make the dead hear you, nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they retreat, turning about.

So verily, you cannot make the dead to hear, nor can you make the deaf to hear the call, when they show their backs and turn away.

You [Prophet] cannot make the dead hear and you cannot make the deaf hear your call when they turn their backs and leave;

You cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they turn away.

And so you cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf hear the call when (read al-du`'a idh, pronouncing both hamzas, or by not pronouncing the second one [that comes] between it and the y') they go away with their backs turned.

The Disbelievers are like the Dead, Deaf and Blind

Allah says;

فَإِنَّكَ لَاإ تُسْمِعُ الْمَوْتَى وَلَاإ تُسْمِعُ الصُّمَّ الدُّعَاء إِذَا وَلَّوْا مُدْبِرِينَ
