وَاِنَّ مِنْكُمْ لَمَنْ لَّيُبَطِّئَنَّۚ فَاِنْ اَصَابَتْكُمْ مُّصِيْبَةٌ قَالَ قَدْ اَنْعَمَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيَّ اِذْ لَمْ اَكُنْ مَّعَهُمْ شَهِيْدًا   ( النساء: ٧٢ )

wa-inna
وَإِنَّ
And indeed

مِنكُمْ
among you

لَمَن
(is he) who
layubaṭṭi-anna
لَّيُبَطِّئَنَّ
lags behind
fa-in
فَإِنْ
then if
aṣābatkum
أَصَٰبَتْكُم
befalls you
muṣībatun
مُّصِيبَةٌ
a disaster
qāla
قَالَ

عَلَىَّ

شَهِيدًا
present"

Wa inna minkum lamal la yubatti'anna fa in asaabatkum museebatun qaala qad an'amal laahu 'alaiya iz lam akum ma'ahum shaheeda (an-Nisāʾ 4:72)

Sahih International:

And indeed, there is among you he who lingers behind; and if disaster strikes you, he says, "Allah has favored me in that I was not present with them." (An-Nisa [4] : 72)

1 Mufti Taqi Usmani

Among you there is one who shall invariably fall back; then, if some calamity befalls you, he would say, “Allah has shown His favor to me, as I was not present with them.”
