Fussilat Verse 35

But this cannot be attained except by those who are patient and who are truly fortunate.

But none can attain this except those who are patient, and none can attain this except those who are greatly fortunate.

Yet none shall receive it, except the steadfast; none shall receive it, except a man of mighty fortune.

but only those who are steadfast in patience, only those who are blessed with great righteousness, will attain to such goodness.

And none attaineth that except those who are patient; and none attaineth that except the owner of mighty good fortune,

And no one will be granted such goodness except those who exercise patience and self-restraint,- none but persons of the greatest good fortune.

But none attains to this except those who are steadfast; none attains to this except those endowed with mighty good fortune.

Only they attain it who forbear, and only a man of great good fortune can achieve it.

And none receive this great treasure except those who are patient; and none receives this except one who is extremely fortunate.

But none is granted it except those who are patient, and none is granted it except the greatly endowed.

And none are ever enabled to attain to it (such great virtue) save those who are patient (in adversities and against the temptations of their souls and Satan), and none are ever enabled to attain to it save those who have a great part in human perfections and virtues.

Yet it is only the steadfast and patiently persevering who are allowed this (grace) and it is only those who possess a large share of good who are allowed this (moral standard).

And none receives/finds it except those who were patient, and none receives/finds it except (owners) of great luck/fortune.

And none receive this great treasure except those who are patient; and none receives this except one who is extremely fortunate.

And none are granted this power but those who possess patience and self-restraint, and none are granted it but the owners of great happiness.

But none is granted it (the above quality) except those who are patient, and none is granted it except the owner of the great portion (of the happiness in the Hereafter i.e. Paradise and in this world of a high moral character).

And not alike are the good and the evil. Repel (evil) with what is best, when lo! he between whom and thee is enmity would be as if he were a warm friend.

And none are made to receive it but those who are patient, and none are made to receive it but those who have a mighty good fortune.

But none is granted it save those who are steadfast, and none is granted it save the owner of great happiness.

Only those who exercise patience and who have been granted a great share of God's favor can find such an opportunity.

But none will receive it except those who are patient and, none shall receive it, except he who has a great share.

But none is granted it except those who are patient -- and none is granted it except the owner of the great portion in this world.

but no one will be granted such goodness except those who exercise patience and self-restraint -- no one is granted it save those who are truly fortunate.

But none will attain it except those who persevere, and none will attain it except the very fortunate.

But none is granted it, in other words, [none] is given that better trait, except those who are steadfast; and none is granted it except one [deserving] of a great reward.

وَمَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا

But none is granted it except those who are patient,

meaning, no one accepts this advice and works according to it, except for those who can be patient in doing so, for it is difficult for people to do.

وَمَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلاَّ ذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٍ



and none is granted it except the owner of the great portion.

means, the one who has a great portion of happiness in this world and in the Hereafter.

Ali bin Abi Talhah reported that Ibn Abbas explained this Ayah;

"Allah commands the believers to be patient when they feel angry, to be forbearing when confronted with ignorance, and to forgive when they are mistreated. If they do this, Allah will save them from the Shaytan and subdue their enemies to them until they become like close friends.
