حَتّٰىٓ اِذَا جَاۤءَنَا قَالَ يٰلَيْتَ بَيْنِيْ وَبَيْنَكَ بُعْدَ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ فَبِئْسَ الْقَرِيْنُ  ( الزخرف: ٣٨ )

ḥattā
حَتَّىٰٓ
Until
idhā
إِذَا
when
jāanā
جَآءَنَا
he comes to Us
qāla
قَالَ
he says
yālayta
يَٰلَيْتَ
"O would that
baynī
بَيْنِى
between me
wabaynaka
وَبَيْنَكَ
and between you
buʿ'da
بُعْدَ
(were the) distance
l-mashriqayni
ٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِ
(of) the East and the West"
fabi'sa
فَبِئْسَ
How wretched is
l-qarīnu
ٱلْقَرِينُ
the companion!

Hattaaa izaa jaaa'anaa qaala yaa laita bainee wa bainaka bu'dal mashriqaini fabi'sal qareen (az-Zukhruf 43:38)

Sahih International:

Until, when he comes to Us [at Judgement], he says [to his companion], "How I wish there was between me and you the distance between the east and west; and what a wretched companion." (Az-Zukhruf [43] : 38)

until when such a person will come to us, he will say (to the devil), “Would that there were the distance of East and West between me and you, because you were the worst companion.”
