Ad-Dukhan Verse 12

Our Lord! Remove ˹this˺ torment from us, ˹and˺ we will certainly believe.”

[They will cry,] “Our Lord, remove the punishment from us; we will surely believe!”

'O our Lord, remove Thou from us the chastisement; we are believers.'

Lord relieve us from this torment! We believe!’

Our Lord! remove from us the torment, verily we shall become believers.

(They will say;) "Our Lord! remove the Penalty from us, for we do really believe!"

(People will then say): “Our Lord, remove this scourge from us; we shall believe.”

"O Lord, take away this torment from us," (they will pray); "we have come to believe."

Thereupon they will say, “O our Lord! Remove the punishment from us – we now accept faith.”

Our Lord! Remove this punishment from us. Indeed we have believed!’

"Our Lord! Remove this punishment from us, for now we are true believers."

(Seeing this the people will cry out,) `Our Lord! rid us of this calamity, truly we will be believers.´

(They say): "Our Lord remove/uncover (relieve) from us the torture, that we are believing."

Thereupon they will say, “O our Lord! Remove the punishment from us - we now accept faith.”

(They pray,) "Our Lord! Remove from us the punishment; surely we are believers."

(They will say): "Our Lord! Remove the torment from us, really we shall become believers!"

Enveloping men. This is a painful chastisement.

Our Lord! remove from us the punishment; surely we are believers.

(Then they will say): Our Lord relieve us of the torment. Lo! we are believers.

Lord, remove this torment from us for we are believers".

'Our Lord, remove this punishment from us, we are believers'

(They will say): "Our Lord! Remove the torment from us, really we shall become believers!"

Then they will say, "Lord, relieve us from this torment, for truly we are now believers in You."

“Our Lord, lift the torment from us, we are believers.”

Our Lord, relieve us from the chastisement; indeed we have believed', we have [now] affirmed the sincerity of Your Prophet.

(They will say);"Our Lord! Remove the torment from us, really we shall become believers!"

means, when the disbelievers witness the punishment of Allah, they will ask for it to be taken away from them.

This is like the Ayat;

وَلَوْ تَرَى إِذْ وُقِفُواْ عَلَى النَّارِ فَقَالُواْ يلَيْتَنَا نُرَدُّ وَلَا نُكَذِّبَ بِـَايَـتِ رَبِّنَا وَنَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُوْمِنِينَ

If you could but see when they will be held over the (Hell) Fire! They will say;"Would that we were but sent back (to the world)! Then we would not deny the Ayat of our Lord, and we would be of the believers!" (6;27)

وَأَنذِرِ النَّاسَ يَوْمَ يَأْتِيهِمُ الْعَذَابُ فَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ رَبَّنَأ أَخِّرْنَأ إِلَى أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ نُّجِبْ دَعْوَتَكَ وَنَتَّبِعِ الرُّسُلَ أَوَلَمْ تَكُونُواْ أَقْسَمْتُمْ مِّن قَبْلُ مَا لَكُمْ مِّن زَوَالٍ

And warn mankind of the Day when the torment will come unto them; then the wrongdoers will say;"Our Lord! Respite us for a little while, we will answer Your Call and follow the Messengers!"

(It will be said);"Had you not sworn aforetime that you would not leave (the world for the Hereafter). (14;44)

Allah says here;

أَنَّى لَهُمُ الذِّكْرَى وَقَدْ جَاءهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ
