Al-Hadid Verse 22

No calamity ˹or blessing˺ occurs on earth or in yourselves without being ˹written˺ in a Record before We bring it into being. This is certainly easy for Allah.

No calamity befalls the earth or yourselves but it is already written in a Record before We bring it into existence. That is indeed easy for Allah –

No affliction befalls in the earth or in yourselves, but it is in a Book, before We create it; that is easy for God;

No misfortune can happen, either in the earth or in yourselves, that was not set down in writing before We brought it into being- that is easy for God-

Naught of distress befalleth the earth or your persons but it is inscribed in the Book even before We have created them. Verily with Allahs that is easy.

No misfortune can happen on earth or in your souls but is recorded in a decree before We bring it into existence; That is truly easy for Allah;

No misfortune ever befalls on earth, nor on yourselves but We have inscribed it in the Book before We make it manifest. Surely that is easy for Allah.

There is no calamity that befalls the earth or your own selves but in accordance with the law (of causation) before We make it evident. This is indeed how the law of God works inevitably.

There is no misfortune that reaches in the earth or in your selves but is mentioned in a Book, before We initiate it; indeed this is easy for Allah.

No affliction visits the land or yourselves but it is in a Book before We bring it about—that is indeed easy for Allah—

No affliction occurs on the earth (such as drought, famine, and earthquakes) or in your own persons (such as disease, damage in your property, and loss of loved ones), but it is recorded in a Book before We bring it into existence – doing so is surely easy for God –

No disaster befalls either on the earth or in your ownselves but it forms part of the divine Law before We bring it into being. Indeed, it is easy for Allâh (to make such a law).

(That there is) none from a disaster (that) struck/hit in the earth/Planet Earth, and nor in yourselves except (that it is) in a Book from before that We create it of nothing, that truly that (is) on God easy/little/small.

There is no misfortune that reaches in the earth or in your selves but is mentioned in a Book, before We initiate it; indeed this is easy for Allah.

No evil (or disaster) befalls on the earth nor in your own souls, but it is in a Book before We bring it into existence; surely that is easy to Allah:

No calamity befalls on the earth or in yourselves but is inscribed in the Book of Decrees (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz), before We bring it into existence. Verily, that is easy for Allah.

Vie one with another for forgiveness from your Lord and a Garden the extensiveness of which is as the extensiveness of the heaven and the earth -- it is prepared for those who believe in Allah and His messengers. That is the grace of Allah; He gives it to whom He pleases. And Allah is the Lord of mighty grace.

No evil befalls on the earth nor in your own souls, but it is in a book before We bring it into existence; surely that is easy to Allah:

Naught of disaster befalleth in the earth or in yourselves but it is in a Book before we bring it into being - Lo! that is easy for Allah -

Whatever hardships you face on earth and in your souls were written in the Book before the creation of the souls. This is certainly easy for God

No affliction can befall either the earth, or yourself, except that it is (written) in a Book before We created it. That is easy for Allah;

No calamity occurs in the earth nor in yourselves but it is inscribed in the Book of Decrees before We bring it into existence. Verily, that is easy for Allah.

No misfortune can affect the earth or your own selves without its first having been recorded in a book, before We bring it into being. That is easy for God to do;

No calamity occurs on earth, or in your souls, but it is in a Book, even before We make it happen. That is easy for God.

No affliction befalls in the earth, by way of drought [for example], or in yourselves, such as illness, or the loss of a child, but it is in a Book, meaning, the Preserved Tablet (al-lawh al-mahfz), before We bring it about, [before] We create it -- the same is said [to be true] of [God's] graces -- that is indeed easy for God,

Everything that affects Mankind, is duly measured and destined

Allah reminds of His measuring and deciding the destiny of all things before He created the creation,

مَا أَصَابَ مِن مُّصِيبَةٍ فِي الاْاَرْضِ وَلَاا فِي أَنفُسِكُمْ

No calamity occurs on the earth nor in yourselves,

meaning, `there is nothing that touches you or happens in existence,'

إِلاَّ فِي كِتَابٍ مِّن قَبْلِ أَن نَّبْرَأَهَا

but it is inscribed in the Book of Decrees before We bring it into existence.

meaning, `before We created the creation and started life.'

Qatadah commented on this Ayah,

مَا أَصَابَ مِن مُّصِيبَةٍ فِي الاْاَرْضِ
(No calamity occurs on the earth) refers to famine,

while,

وَلَا فِي أَنفُسِكُمْ
(or nor in yourselves) refers to suffering and diseases."

He also said,

"We were told that every person who suffers a prick of a thorn, a twisted ankle, or a bleeding vein, has it occur on account of his sins. What Allah forgives is even more."

This great, honorable Ayah provides clear evidence to the misguidance of the cursed Qadariyyah sect, who deny Allah's Preordainment and His knowledge of everything before it occurs.

Imam Ahmad recorded that Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-`As said,

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say,

قَدَّرَ اللهُ الْمَقَادِيرَ قَبلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ السَّموَاتِ وَالاَْرْضَ بِخَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَة

Allah ordained the measures (of everything) fifty thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth."

Muslim collected this Hadith in his Sahih with the addition;

وَكَانَ عَرْشُهُ عَلَى الْمَاء

And His Throne was over the water.

At-Tirmidhi also collected it and said, "Hasan Sahih."

Allah's statement,

إِنَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ




Verily, that is easy for Allah.

means that He knows all things before they occur, and He records them exactly as they will occur when they occur, and this is easy for Him.

Verily, Allah knows what happened, what will happen and what did not happen, and what shape and form it will take if it were to happen.
Ordering Patience and Gratitude
