وَكَاَيِّنْ مِّنْ نَّبِيٍّ قَاتَلَۙ مَعَهٗ رِبِّيُّوْنَ كَثِيْرٌۚ فَمَا وَهَنُوْا لِمَآ اَصَابَهُمْ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ وَمَا ضَعُفُوْا وَمَا اسْتَكَانُوْا ۗ وَاللّٰهُ يُحِبُّ الصّٰبِرِيْنَ ( آل عمران: ١٤٦ )
Wa ka aiyim min Nabiyyin qaatala ma'ahoo ribbiyyoona kaseerun famaa wahanoo limaaa Asaabahum fee sabeelil laahi wa maa da'ufoo wa mas takaanoo; wallaahu yuhibbus saabireen (ʾĀl ʿImrān 3:146)
English Sahih:
And how many a prophet [fought in battle and] with him fought many religious scholars. But they never lost assurance due to what afflicted them in the cause of Allah, nor did they weaken or submit. And Allah loves the steadfast. (Ali 'Imran [3] : 146)
Muhammad Hamidullah:
Combien de prophètes ont combattu, en compagnie de beaucoup de disciples, ceux-ci ne fléchirent pas à cause de ce qui les atteignit dans le sentier d'Allah. Ils ne faiblirent pas et ils ne cédèrent point. Et Allah aime les endurants. (Ali-'Imran [3] : 146)

Bien des prophètes d’Allah avant vous allèrent au combat avec de nombreux adeptes et affrontèrent de lourdes pertes sans vaciller. Ils ne faiblirent pas face à l’ennemi, ni ne se rendirent. Ils se montrèrent au contraire fermes et persévérants.
Allah aime ceux qui font preuve d’endurance face aux malheurs et catastrophes qui les frappent pour Sa cause.
