اِنَّهُمْ كَانُوْٓا اِذَا قِيْلَ لَهُمْ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُوْنَ ۙ ( الصافات: ٣٥ )

Innahum kaanooo izaa qeela lahum laaa ilaaha illal laahu yastakbiroon (aṣ-Ṣāffāt 37:35)
English Sahih:
Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant (As-Saffat [37] : 35)

Quand on leur disait: «Point de divinité à part Allah», ils se gonflaient d'orgueil, (As-Saffat [37] : 35)

Lorsque, dans le bas monde, on disait à ces polythéistes « Il n’existe pas de divinité en dehors d’Allah » afin qu’ils œuvrent selon ce que cette formule implique et délaissent ce qui s’oppose à elle, ils refusaient de l’accepter faisant preuve d’orgueil et d’arrogance face à la vérité.
