وَقَالُوْا يٰٓاَيُّهَ السّٰحِرُ ادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِنْدَكَۚ اِنَّنَا لَمُهْتَدُوْنَ ( الزخرف: ٤٩ )
Wa qaaloo yaaa ayyuhas saahirud'u lanaa Rabbaka bimaa 'ahida 'indaka innanaa lamuhtadoon (az-Zukhruf 43:49)
English Sahih:
And they said [to Moses], "O magician, invoke for us your Lord by what He has promised you. Indeed, we will be guided." (Az-Zukhruf [43] : 49)
Muhammad Hamidullah:
Et ils dirent: «O magicien! Implore pour nous ton Seigneur au nom de l'engagement qu'Il a pris envers toi. Nous suivrons le droit chemin». (Az-Zuhruf [43] : 49)

Lorsque les atteignit une partie du châtiment, ils dirent à Moïse: Ô sorcier, invoque ton Seigneur afin qu’Il fasse cesser le châtiment comme Il te l’a promis pour ceux qui se mettent à avoir la foi. Nous emprunterons en effet le chemin qui mène à Lui s’il fait cesser notre supplice.
