اَفَاَصْفٰىكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ بِالْبَنِيْنَ وَاتَّخَذَ مِنَ الْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةِ اِنَاثًاۗ اِنَّكُمْ لَتَقُوْلُوْنَ قَوْلًا عَظِيْمًا ࣖ ( الإسراء: ٤٠ )
Then has your Lord chosen (for) you
أَفَأَصْفَىٰكُمْ
क्या फिर चुन लिया तुम्हें
Then has your Lord chosen (for) you
رَبُّكُم
तुम्हारे रब ने
sons
بِٱلْبَنِينَ
साथ बेटों के
and He has taken
وَٱتَّخَذَ
और उसने बना लिया
from
مِنَ
फ़रिश्तों को
the Angels
ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
फ़रिश्तों को
daughters?
إِنَٰثًاۚ
बेटियाँ
Indeed, you
إِنَّكُمْ
बेशक तुम
surely say
لَتَقُولُونَ
अलबत्ता तुम कहते हो
a word
قَوْلًا
बात
grave
عَظِيمًا
बहुत बड़ी
Afaasfakum rabbukum bialbaneena waittakhatha mina almalaikati inathan innakum lataqooloona qawlan 'atheeman (al-ʾIsrāʾ 17:40)

क्या तुम्हारे रब ने तुम्हें तो बेटों के लिए ख़ास किया और स्वयं अपने लिए फ़रिश्तों को बेटियाँ बनाया? बहुत भारी बात है जो तुम कह रहे हो!
English Sahih:
Then, has your Lord chosen you for [having] sons and taken [i.e., adopted] from among the angels daughters? Indeed, you say a grave saying. ([17] Al-Isra : 40)
