Surah [46] Al-Ahqaf : 16

اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ الَّذِيۡنَ نَـتَقَبَّلُ عَنۡهُمۡ اَحۡسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوۡا وَنَـتَجَاوَزُ عَنۡ سَيِّاٰتِهِمۡ فِىۡۤ اَصۡحٰبِ الۡجَنَّةِ‌ ؕ وَعۡدَ الصِّدۡقِ الَّذِىۡ كَانُوۡا يُوۡعَدُوۡنَ(الأحقاف :16)

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
Those
ٱلَّذِينَ
(are) the ones
نَتَقَبَّلُ
We will accept
عَنْهُمْ
from them
أَحْسَنَ
(the) best
مَا
(of) what
عَمِلُوا۟
they did
وَنَتَجَاوَزُ
and We will overlook
عَن
from
سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ
their evil deeds
فِىٓ
among
أَصْحَٰبِ
(the) companions
ٱلْجَنَّةِۖ
(of) Paradise
وَعْدَ
A promise
ٱلصِّدْقِ
true
ٱلَّذِى
which
كَانُوا۟
they were
يُوعَدُونَ
promised

Olaika allatheena nataqabbalu 'anhum ahsana ma 'amiloo wanatajawazu 'an sayyiatihim fee ashabi aljannati wa'da alssidqi allathee kanoo yoo'adoona

Sahih International:

Those are the ones from whom We will accept the best of what they did and overlook their misdeeds, [their being] among the companions of Paradise. [That is] the promise of truth which they had been promised.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [46] Al-Ahqaf : 17

وَالَّذِىۡ قَالَ لِـوَالِدَيۡهِ اُفٍّ لَّكُمَاۤ اَتَعِدٰنِنِىۡۤ اَنۡ اُخۡرَجَ وَقَدۡ خَلَتِ الۡقُرُوۡنُ مِنۡ قَبۡلِىۡ‌ ۚ وَهُمَا يَسۡتَغِيۡثٰنِ اللّٰهَ وَيۡلَكَ اٰمِنۡ ۖ اِنَّ وَعۡدَ اللّٰهِ حَقٌّ  ۖۚ فَيَقُوۡلُ مَا هٰذَاۤ اِلَّاۤ اَسَاطِيۡرُ الۡاَوَّلِيۡنَ(الأحقاف :17)

وَٱلَّذِى
But the one who
قَالَ
says
لِوَٰلِدَيْهِ
to his parents
أُفٍّ
"Uff
لَّكُمَآ
to both of you!
أَتَعِدَانِنِىٓ
Do you promise me
أَنْ
that
أُخْرَجَ
I will be brought forth
وَقَدْ
and have already passed away
خَلَتِ
and have already passed away
ٱلْقُرُونُ
the generations
مِن
before me?"
قَبْلِى
before me?"
وَهُمَا
And they both
يَسْتَغِيثَانِ
seek help
ٱللَّهَ
(of) Allah
وَيْلَكَ
"Woe to you!
ءَامِنْ
Believe!
إِنَّ
Indeed
وَعْدَ
(the) Promise
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
حَقٌّ
(is) true"
فَيَقُولُ
But he says
مَا
"Not
هَٰذَآ
(is) this
إِلَّآ
but
أَسَٰطِيرُ
(the) stories
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
(of) the former (people)"

Waallathee qala liwalidayhi offin lakuma ata'idaninee an okhraja waqad khalati alquroonu min qablee wahuma yastagheethani Allaha waylaka amin inna wa'da Allahi haqqun fayaqoolu ma hatha illa asateeru alawwaleena

Sahih International:

But one who says to his parents, "Uff to you; do you promise me that I will be brought forth [from the earth] when generations before me have already passed on [into oblivion]?" while they call to Allah for help [and to their son], "Woe to you! Believe! Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth." But he says, "This is not but legends of the former people" -
