Surah [33] Al-Ahzab : 37

وَاِذۡ تَقُوۡلُ لِلَّذِىۡۤ اَنۡعَمَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيۡهِ وَاَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِ اَمۡسِكۡ عَلَيۡكَ زَوۡجَكَ وَاتَّقِ اللّٰهَ وَتُخۡفِىۡ فِىۡ نَفۡسِكَ مَا اللّٰهُ مُبۡدِيۡهِ وَتَخۡشَى النَّاسَ ‌ۚ وَاللّٰهُ اَحَقُّ اَنۡ تَخۡشٰٮهُ ؕ فَلَمَّا قَضٰى زَيۡدٌ مِّنۡهَا وَطَرًا زَوَّجۡنٰكَهَا لِكَىۡ لَا يَكُوۡنَ عَلَى الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ حَرَجٌ فِىۡۤ اَزۡوَاجِ اَدۡعِيَآٮِٕهِمۡ اِذَا قَضَوۡا مِنۡهُنَّ وَطَرًا ؕ وَكَانَ اَمۡرُ اللّٰهِ مَفۡعُوۡلًا(الأحزاب :37)

وَإِذْ
And when
تَقُولُ
you said
لِلَّذِىٓ
to the one
أَنْعَمَ
Allah bestowed favor
ٱللَّهُ
Allah bestowed favor
عَلَيْهِ
on him
وَأَنْعَمْتَ
and you bestowed favor
عَلَيْهِ
on him
أَمْسِكْ
"Keep
عَلَيْكَ
to yourself
زَوْجَكَ
your wife
وَٱتَّقِ
and fear
ٱللَّهَ
Allah"
وَتُخْفِى
But you concealed
فِى
within
نَفْسِكَ
yourself
مَا
what
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
مُبْدِيهِ
(was to) disclose
وَتَخْشَى
And you fear
ٱلنَّاسَ
the people
وَٱللَّهُ
while Allah
أَحَقُّ
has more right
أَن
that
تَخْشَىٰهُۖ
you (should) fear Him
فَلَمَّا
So when
قَضَىٰ
ended
زَيْدٌ
Zaid
مِّنْهَا
from her
وَطَرًا
necessary (formalities)
زَوَّجْنَٰكَهَا
We married her to you
لِكَىْ
so that
لَا
not
يَكُونَ
there be
عَلَى
on
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
the believers
حَرَجٌ
any discomfort
فِىٓ
concerning
أَزْوَٰجِ
the wives
أَدْعِيَآئِهِمْ
(of) their adopted sons
إِذَا
when
قَضَوْا۟
they have ended
مِنْهُنَّ
from them
وَطَرًاۚ
necessary (formalities)
وَكَانَ
And is
أَمْرُ
(the) Command
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
مَفْعُولًا
accomplished

Waith taqoolu lillathee an'ama Allahu 'alayhi waan'amta 'alayhi amsik 'alayka zawjaka waittaqi Allaha watukhfee fee nafsika ma Allahu mubdeehi watakhsha alnnasa waAllahu ahaqqu an takhshahu falamma qada zaydun minha wataran zawwajnakaha likay la yakoona 'ala almumineena harajun fee azwaji ad'iyaihim itha qadaw minhunna wataran wakana amru Allahi maf'oolan

Sahih International:

And [remember, O Muhammad], when you said to the one on whom Allah bestowed favor and you bestowed favor, "Keep your wife and fear Allah," while you concealed within yourself that which Allah is to disclose. And you feared the people, while Allah has more right that you fear Him. So when Zayd had no longer any need for her, We married her to you in order that there not be upon the believers any discomfort concerning the wives of their adopted sons when they no longer have need of them. And ever is the command of Allah accomplished.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [33] Al-Ahzab : 38

مَا كَانَ عَلَى النَّبِىِّ مِنۡ حَرَجٍ فِيۡمَا فَرَضَ اللّٰهُ لهٗ ؕ سُنَّةَ اللّٰهِ فِى الَّذِيۡنَ خَلَوۡا مِنۡ قَبۡلُ ؕ وَكَانَ اَمۡرُ اللّٰهِ قَدَرًا مَّقۡدُوۡرَا(الأحزاب :38)

مَّا
Not
كَانَ
(there can) be
عَلَى
upon
ٱلنَّبِىِّ
the Prophet
مِنْ
any
حَرَجٍ
discomfort
فِيمَا
in what
فَرَضَ
Allah has imposed
ٱللَّهُ
Allah has imposed
لَهُۥۖ
on him
سُنَّةَ
(That is the) Way
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
فِى
concerning
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
خَلَوْا۟
passed away
مِن
before
قَبْلُۚ
before
وَكَانَ
And is
أَمْرُ
(the) Command
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
قَدَرًا
a decree
مَّقْدُورًا
destined

Ma kana 'ala alnnabiyyi min harajin feema farada Allahu lahu sunnata Allahi fee allatheena khalaw min qablu wakana amru Allahi qadaran maqdooran

Sahih International:

There is not to be upon the Prophet any discomfort concerning that which Allah has imposed upon him. [This is] the established way of Allah with those [prophets] who have passed on before. And ever is the command of Allah a destiny decreed.
