وَمِنْهُمْ اُمِّيُّوْنَ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ الْكِتٰبَ اِلَّآ اَمَانِيَّ وَاِنْ هُمْ اِلَّا يَظُنُّوْنَ ( البقرة: ٧٨ )
wamin'hum
وَمِنْهُمْ
And among them
അവരിലുണ്ട് താനും, അവരില്പെട്ടതുമാണ്
ummiyyūna
أُمِّيُّونَ
(are) unlettered ones
(ചില) അക്ഷരജ്ഞാനമില്ലാത്തവര്
lā yaʿlamūna
لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
(who) do not know
അവര് അറിയുകയില്ല

ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the book
(വേദ)ഗ്രന്ഥം
illā
إِلَّآ
except
ചില) വ്യാമോഹങ്ങളല്ലാതെ
amāniyya
أَمَانِىَّ
wishful thinking
(ചില) വ്യാമോഹങ്ങളല്ലാതെ
wa-in hum
وَإِنْ هُمْ
and not they
അവരല്ല
illā yaẓunnūna
إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ
(do anything) except guess
അവര് ഊഹിക്കുകയല്ലാതെ
Wa minhum ummiyyoona laa ya'lamoonal kitaaba illaaa amaaniyya wa in hum illaa yazunnoon (al-Baq̈arah 2:78)
English Sahih:
And among them are unlettered ones who do not know the Scripture except [indulgement in] wishful thinking, but they are only assuming. (Al-Baqarah [2] : 78)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
അവരില് ചിലര് നിരക്ഷരരാണ്. വേദഗ്രന്ഥമൊന്നും അവര്ക്കറിയില്ല; ചില വ്യാമോഹങ്ങള് വെച്ചുപുലര്ത്തുന്നതല്ലാതെ. ഊഹിച്ചെടുക്കുക മാത്രമാണവര് ചെയ്യുന്നത്. (അല്ബഖറ [2] : 78)
