اَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَمْ اَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِّنْ قَرْنٍ مَّكَّنّٰهُمْ فِى الْاَرْضِ مَا لَمْ نُمَكِّنْ لَّكُمْ وَاَرْسَلْنَا السَّمَاۤءَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِّدْرَارًا ۖوَّجَعَلْنَا الْاَنْهٰرَ تَجْرِيْ مِنْ تَحْتِهِمْ فَاَهْلَكْنٰهُمْ بِذُنُوْبِهِمْ وَاَنْشَأْنَا مِنْۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا اٰخَرِيْنَ ( الأنعام: ٦ )
Alam yaraw kam ahlaknaa min qablihim min qarnim makkannaahum fil ardi maa lam numakkil lakum wa arsalnas samaaa'a 'alaihim midraaranw wa ja'alnal anhaara tajree min tahtihim fa ahlak naahum bizunoobihim wa anshaanaa mim ba'dihim qarnan aakhareen (al-ʾAnʿām 6:6)
English Sahih:
Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them which We had established upon the earth as We have not established you? And We sent [rain from] the sky upon them in showers and made rivers flow beneath them; then We destroyed them for their sins and brought forth after them a generation of others. (Al-An'am [6] : 6)

അവര്‍ കണ്ടിട്ടില്ലേ? അവര്‍ക്കുമുമ്പ് എത്ര തലമുറകളെയാണ് നാം നശിപ്പിച്ചത്. നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു നാം ചെയ്തുതന്നിട്ടില്ലാത്ത സൗകര്യം ഭൂമിയില്‍ നാമവര്‍ക്ക് ചെയ്തുകൊടുത്തിരുന്നു. അവര്‍ക്കു നാം മാനത്തുനിന്ന് ധാരാളമായി മഴ വര്‍ഷിച്ചു. അവരുടെ താഴ്ഭാഗത്തൂടെ പുഴകളൊഴുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. പിന്നെ അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങളുടെ ഫലമായി നാമവരെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു. അവര്‍ക്കുപിറകെ മറ്റു തലമുറകളെ വളര്‍ത്തിക്കൊണ്ടുവരികയും ചെയ്തു. അവര്‍ കണ്ടില്ലേ; അവര്‍ക്ക് മുമ്പ് നാം എത്ര തലമുറകളെ നശിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന്‌? നിങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് നാം ചെയ്തുതന്നിട്ടില്ലാത്ത സൗകര്യം ഭൂമിയില്‍ അവര്‍ക്ക് നാം ചെയ്തുകൊടുത്തിരുന്നു. നാം അവര്‍ക്ക് ധാരാളമായി മഴ വര്‍ഷിപ്പിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുകയും, അവരുടെ താഴ്ഭാഗത്തുകൂടി നദികള്‍ ഒഴുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. എന്നിട്ട് അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങള്‍ കാരണം നാം അവരെ നശിപ്പിക്കുകയും, അവര്‍ക്ക് ശേഷം നാം വേറെ തലമുറകളെ ഉണ്ടാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
