وَكَاَيِّنْ مِّنْ قَرْيَةٍ عَتَتْ عَنْ اَمْرِ رَبِّهَا وَرُسُلِهٖ فَحَاسَبْنٰهَا حِسَابًا شَدِيْدًاۙ وَّعَذَّبْنٰهَا عَذَابًا نُّكْرًا ( الطلاق: ٨ )
And how many
وَكَأَيِّن
எத்தனையோ
of a town rebelled
مِّن قَرْيَةٍ عَتَتْ
ஊர்கள்/மீறின
against (the) Command
عَنْ أَمْرِ
கட்டளையையும்
(of) its Lord
رَبِّهَا
தமது இறைவனின்
and His Messengers
وَرُسُلِهِۦ
இன்னும் தமது தூதரின்
so We took it to account
فَحَاسَبْنَٰهَا
நாம் அவற்றை விசாரித்தோம்
an account
حِسَابًا
விசாரணையால்
severe;
شَدِيدًا
கடுமையான
and We punished it
وَعَذَّبْنَٰهَا
இன்னும் அவற்றை வேதனை செய்தோம்
a punishment terrible
عَذَابًا نُّكْرًا
மோசமான தண்டனையால்
Wa ka ayyim min qaryatin 'atat 'an amri Rabbihaa wa Rusulihee fahaasabnaahaa hisaaban shadeedanw wa 'azzabnaahaa 'azaaban nukraa (aṭ-Ṭalāq̈ 65:8)

எத்தனையோ ஊர்வாசிகள் தங்கள் இறைவனின் கட்டளைக்கும், அவனுடைய தூதர்களுக்கும் மாறுசெய்தனர். ஆதலால், அவர்களை நாம் வெகு கடினமாகவே கேள்வி கணக்குக் கேட்டு, அவர்களை மிகக் கடினமான வேதனையை கொண்டு வேதனை செய்தோம்.
English Sahih:
And how many a city was insolent toward the command of its Lord and His messengers, so We took it to severe account and punished it with a terrible punishment. ([65] At-Talaq : 8)
