وَمَآ اَرْسَلْنَا فِيْ قَرْيَةٍ مِّنْ نَّبِيٍّ اِلَّآ اَخَذْنَآ اَهْلَهَا بِالْبَأْسَاۤءِ وَالضَّرَّاۤءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَضَّرَّعُوْنَ ( الأعراف: ٩٤ )
And not
وَمَآ
Und nicht
We sent
أَرْسَلْنَا
sandten wir
in
فِى
in
a city
قَرْيَةٍ
eine Stadt
[of]
مِّن
von
any Prophet
نَّبِىٍّ
einem Propheten,
except
إِلَّآ
außer
We seized
أَخَذْنَآ
(dass) wir heimsuchten
its people
أَهْلَهَا
ihre Bewohner
with adversity
بِٱلْبَأْسَآءِ
mit Not
and hardship
وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ
und Leid,
so that they may
لَعَلَّهُمْ
auf daß sie
(become) humble
يَضَّرَّعُونَ
Unterwürfig flehen.
Wa Mā 'Arsalnā Fī Qaryatin Min Nabīyin 'Illā 'Akhadhnā 'Ahlahā Bil-Ba'sā'i Wa Ađ-Đarrā'i La`allahum Yađđarra`ūna. (al-ʾAʿrāf 7:94)

Und Wir haben in keine Stadt Propheten gesandt, ohne daß Wir über ihre Bewohner Not und Leid hätten kommen lassen, auf daß sie in Unterwürfigkeit flehen mögen. ([7] al-Araf (Die Höhen) : 94)
English Sahih:
And We sent to no city a prophet [who was denied] except that We seized its people with poverty and hardship that they might humble themselves [to Allah]. ([7] Al-A'raf : 94)
