Yusuf Verse 103

And most people will not believe—no matter how keen you are—

But most people will not believe, no matter how eager you may be.

Yet, be thou ever so eager, the most part of men believe not.

However eagerly you may want them to, most men will not believe.

And most of the people, though thou desiredest ardently, are not going to be believers.

Yet no faith will the greater part of mankind have, however ardently thou dost desire it.

And most of the people, howsoever you might so desire, are not going to believe.

Many men will not believe howsoever you wish,

And however much you long for, most men will not accept faith.

Yet most people will not have faith, however eager you should be.

Yet, be you ever so eager, most people will not believe.

And many people, even though you ardently desire (it), will not at all believe.

And most of the people are not with believing, and even if you held onto stingily and desired strongly (were careful)

And however much you long for, most men will not accept faith.

And though you ardently desires it, most of mankind will not believe (or have faith)

And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly.

This is of the announcements relating to the unseen (which) We reveal to thee, and thou wast not with them when they resolved upon their affair, and they were devising plans.

And most men will not believe though you desire it eagerly.

And though thou try much, most men will not believe.

However hard you try, most people will not believe.

Even though you are so eager, most people will not believe.

And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly.

Yet most men will not become believers, no matter how eager you may be.

But most people, for all your eagerness, are not believers.

Yet, most people, that is, the people of Mecca, however eager you might be, that they believe, will not believe.

And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly.

Allah said in similar Ayat,

وَإِن تُطِعْ أَكْثَرَ مَن فِى الاٌّرْضِ يُضِلُّوكَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ

And if you obey most of those on the earth, they will mislead you far away from Allah's path. (6;116)

and,

إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ مُّوْمِنِينَ

Verily, in this is an Ayah, yet most of them are not believers. (26;8)

Allah said next

Nor are most people moved by the convincing divine signs and marvels, expositions and illustrations to exercise spiritual apprehension of divine truths nor do they justify faith as a conviction operative on their character and will, even though you Muhammad are full of keen desire to guide them into all truth
