وَقَالَتِ الْيَهُوْدُ وَالنَّصٰرٰى نَحْنُ اَبْنٰۤؤُ اللّٰهِ وَاَحِبَّاۤؤُهٗ ۗ قُلْ فَلِمَ يُعَذِّبُكُمْ بِذُنُوْبِكُمْ ۗ بَلْ اَنْتُمْ بَشَرٌ مِّمَّنْ خَلَقَۗ يَغْفِرُ لِمَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَنْ يَّشَاۤءُۗ وَلِلّٰهِ مُلْكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖوَاِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيْرُ ( المائدة: ١٨ )
Waqalati alyahoodu waalnnasara nahnu abnao Allahi waahibbaohu qul falima yu'aththibukum bithunoobikum bal antum basharun mimman khalaqa yaghfiru liman yashao wayu'aththibu man yashao walillahi mulku alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma wailayhi almaseeru (al-Māʾidah 5:18)

यहूदी और ईसाई कहते है, 'हम तो अल्लाह के बेटे और उसके चहेते है।' कहो, 'फिर वह तुम्हें तुम्हारे गुनाहों पर दंड क्यों देता है? बात यह नहीं है, बल्कि तुम भी उसके पैदा किए हुए प्राणियों में से एक मनुष्य हो। वह जिसे चाहे क्षमा करे और जिसे चाहे दंड दे।' और अल्लाह ही के लिए है बादशाही आकाशों और धरती को और जो कुछ उनके बीच है वह भी, और जाना भी उसी की ओर है
English Sahih:
But the Jews and the Christians say, "We are the children of Allah and His beloved." Say, "Then why does He punish you for your sins?" Rather, you are human beings from among those He has created. He forgives whom He wills, and He punishes whom He wills. And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, and to Him is the [final] destination. ([5] Al-Ma'idah : 18)

और नसरानी और यहूदी तो कहते हैं कि हम ही ख़ुदा के बेटे और उसके चहेते हैं (ऐ रसूल) उनसे तुम कह दो (कि अगर ऐसा है) तो फिर तुम्हें तुम्हारे गुनाहों की सज़ा क्यों देता है (तुम्हारा ख्याल लग़ो है) बल्कि तुम भी उसकी मख़लूक़ात से एक बशर हो ख़ुदा जिसे चाहेगा बख़ देगा और जिसको चाहेगा सज़ा देगा आसमान और ज़मीन और जो कुछ उन दोनों के दरमियान में है सब ख़ुदा ही का मुल्क है और सबको उसी की तरफ़ लौट कर जाना है
