وَلَوْ اَنَّهُمْ رَضُوْا مَآ اٰتٰىهُمُ اللّٰهُ وَرَسُوْلُهٗۙ وَقَالُوْا حَسْبُنَا اللّٰهُ سَيُؤْتِيْنَا اللّٰهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهٖ وَرَسُوْلُهٗٓ اِنَّآ اِلَى اللّٰهِ رَاغِبُوْنَ ࣖ ( التوبة: ٥٩ )
Wa law annahum radoo maaa aataahumul laahu wa Rasooluhoo wa qaaloo hasbunal laahu wayu'teenallaahu min fadlihee wa Rasooluhooo innaaa ilallaahi raaghiboon (at-Tawbah 9:59)
English Sahih:
If only they had been satisfied with what Allah and His Messenger gave them and said, "Sufficient for us is Allah; Allah will give us of His bounty, and [so will] His Messenger; indeed, we are desirous toward Allah," [it would have been better for them]. (At-Tawbah [9] : 59)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
അവര് അല്ലാഹുവും അവന്റെ ദൂതനും നല്കിയതില് തൃപ്തിയടയുകയും എന്നിട്ടിങ്ങനെ പറയുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നെങ്കില് എത്ര നന്നായേനെ: ''ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക് അല്ലാഹു മതി. അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹത്തില്നിന്ന് അവനും അവന്റെ ദൂതനും ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക് ഇനിയും നല്കും. ഞങ്ങള് അല്ലാഹുവില് മാത്രം പ്രതീക്ഷയര്പ്പിച്ചവരാണ്.'' (അത്തൗബ [9] : 59)

അല്ലാഹുവും അവന്റെ റസൂലും കൊടുത്തതില് അവര് തൃപ്തിയടയുകയും, 'ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക് അല്ലാഹു മതി, അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹത്തില് നിന്ന് അവനും അവന്റെ റസൂലും ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക് തന്നുകൊള്ളും. തീര്ച്ചയായും ഞങ്ങള് അല്ലാഹുവിങ്കലേക്കാണ് ആഗ്രഹങ്ങള് തിരിക്കുന്നത്' എന്ന് അവര് പറയുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നെങ്കില് (എത്ര നന്നായിരുന്നേനെ!)
