وَلَوْلَآ اَنْ ثَبَّتْنٰكَ لَقَدْ كِدْتَّ تَرْكَنُ اِلَيْهِمْ شَيْـًٔا قَلِيْلًا ۙ ( الإسراء: ٧٤ )
walawlā
وَلَوْلَآ
And if not
Et si (ce n’était) pas
an
أَن

ثَبَّتْنَٰكَ
We (had) strengthened you
Nous t’avons affermi,

لَقَدْ

ilayhim
إِلَيْهِمْ
to them
vers eux
shayan
شَيْـًٔا

قَلِيلًا
a little
petite.
Wa law laaa an sabbatnaaka laqad kitta tarkanu ilaihim sha'an qaleela (al-ʾIsrāʾ 17:74)
English Sahih:
And if We had not strengthened you, you would have almost inclined to them a little. (Al-Isra [17] : 74)
Muhammad Hamidullah:
Et si Nous ne t'avions pas raffermi, tu aurais bien failli t'incliner quelque peu vers eux. (Al-Isra' [17] : 74)

Si Nous ne t’avions pas raffermi dans la vérité, ils auraient fini par te convaincre et tu aurais alors répondu favorablement à leurs suggestions. Ils auraient en effet tiré avantage de leur ruse très active et de ton désir ardent qu’ils aient la foi.
