Surah [24] An-Nur : 27

يٰۤـاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا لَا تَدۡخُلُوۡا بُيُوۡتًا غَيۡرَ بُيُوۡتِكُمۡ حَتّٰى تَسۡتَاۡنِسُوۡا وَتُسَلِّمُوۡا عَلٰٓى اَهۡلِهَا ‌ؕ ذٰ لِكُمۡ خَيۡرٌ لَّـكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَذَكَّرُوۡنَ(النور :27)

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
who
ءَامَنُوا۟
believe!
لَا
(Do) not
تَدْخُلُوا۟
enter
بُيُوتًا
houses
غَيْرَ
other (than)
بُيُوتِكُمْ
your houses
حَتَّىٰ
until
تَسْتَأْنِسُوا۟
you have asked permission
وَتُسَلِّمُوا۟
and you have greeted
عَلَىٰٓ
[on]
أَهْلِهَاۚ
its inhabitants
ذَٰلِكُمْ
That
خَيْرٌ
(is) best
لَّكُمْ
for you
لَعَلَّكُمْ
so that you may
تَذَكَّرُونَ
pay heed

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tadkhuloo buyootan ghayra buyootikum hatta tastanisoo watusallimoo 'ala ahliha thalikum khayrun lakum la'allakum tathakkaroona

Sahih International:

O you who have believed, do not enter houses other than your own houses until you ascertain welcome and greet their inhabitants. That is best for you; perhaps you will be reminded.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [24] An-Nur : 28

فَاِنۡ لَّمۡ تَجِدُوۡا فِيۡهَاۤ اَحَدًا فَلَا تَدۡخُلُوۡهَا حَتّٰى يُؤۡذَنَ لَـكُمۡ‌ۚ وَاِنۡ قِيۡلَ لَـكُمُ ارۡجِعُوۡا فَارۡجِعُوۡا‌ۚ هُوَ اَزۡكٰى لَـكُمۡ‌ؕ وَاللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ عَلِيۡمٌ‏(النور :28)

فَإِن
But if
لَّمْ
not
تَجِدُوا۟
you find
فِيهَآ
in it
أَحَدًا
anyone
فَلَا
then (do) not
تَدْخُلُوهَا
enter it
حَتَّىٰ
until
يُؤْذَنَ
permission has been given
لَكُمْۖ
to you
وَإِن
And if
قِيلَ
it is said
لَكُمُ
to you
ٱرْجِعُوا۟
"Go back"
فَٱرْجِعُوا۟ۖ
then go back;
هُوَ
it
أَزْكَىٰ
(is) purer
لَكُمْۚ
for you
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
بِمَا
of what
تَعْمَلُونَ
you do
عَلِيمٌ
(is) All-Knower

Fain lam tajidoo feeha ahadan fala tadkhulooha hatta yuthana lakum wain qeela lakumu irji'oo fairji'oo huwa azka lakum waAllahu bima ta'maloona 'aleemun

Sahih International:

And if you do not find anyone therein, do not enter them until permission has been given you. And if it is said to you, "Go back," then go back; it is purer for you. And Allah is Knowing of what you do.

Surah [24] An-Nur : 29

لَـيۡسَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ جُنَاحٌ اَنۡ تَدۡخُلُوۡا بُيُوۡتًا غَيۡرَ مَسۡكُوۡنَةٍ فِيۡهَا مَتَاعٌ لَّـكُمۡ‌ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ يَعۡلَمُ مَا تُبۡدُوۡنَ وَمَا تَكۡتُمُوۡنَ‏(النور :29)

لَّيْسَ
Not
عَلَيْكُمْ
upon you
جُنَاحٌ
(is) any blame
أَن
that
تَدْخُلُوا۟
you enter
بُيُوتًا
houses
غَيْرَ
not
مَسْكُونَةٍ
inhabited
فِيهَا
in it
مَتَٰعٌ
(is) a provision
لَّكُمْۚ
for you
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
يَعْلَمُ
knows
مَا
what
تُبْدُونَ
you reveal
وَمَا
and what
تَكْتُمُونَ
you conceal

Laysa 'alaykum junahun an tadkhuloo buyootan ghayra maskoonatin feeha mata'un lakum waAllahu ya'lamu ma tubdoona wama taktumoona

Sahih International:

There is no blame upon you for entering houses not inhabited in which there is convenience for you. And Allah knows what you reveal and what you conceal.
