Surah [21] Al-Anbiya' : 87

وَ ذَا النُّوۡنِ اِذْ ذَّهَبَ مُغَاضِبًا فَظَنَّ اَنۡ لَّنۡ نَّـقۡدِرَ عَلَيۡهِ فَنَادٰى فِى الظُّلُمٰتِ اَنۡ لَّاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡتَ سُبۡحٰنَكَ ‌ۖ اِنِّىۡ كُنۡتُ مِنَ الظّٰلِمِيۡنَ‌(الأنبياء :87)

وَذَا
And Dhun-Nun
ٱلنُّونِ
And Dhun-Nun
إِذ
when
ذَّهَبَ
he went
مُغَٰضِبًا
(while) angry
فَظَنَّ
and thought
أَن
that
لَّن
never
نَّقْدِرَ
We would decree
عَلَيْهِ
upon him
فَنَادَىٰ
Then he called
فِى
in
ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ
the darkness(es)
أَن
that
لَّآ
"(There is) no
إِلَٰهَ
god
إِلَّآ
except
أَنتَ
You
سُبْحَٰنَكَ
Glory be to You!
إِنِّى
Indeed, [I]
كُنتُ
I am
مِنَ
of
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers"

Watha alnnooni ith thahaba mughadiban fathanna an lan naqdira 'alayhi fanada fee alththulumati an la ilaha illa anta subhanaka innee kuntu mina alththalimeena

Sahih International:

And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers."

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [68] Al-Qalam : 48

فَاصۡبِرۡ لِحُكۡمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُنۡ كَصَاحِبِ الۡحُوۡتِ‌ۘ اِذۡ نَادٰى وَهُوَ مَكۡظُوۡمٌؕ‏(القلم :48)

فَٱصْبِرْ
So be patient
لِحُكْمِ
for (the) decision
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord
وَلَا
and (do) not
تَكُن
be
كَصَاحِبِ
like (the) companion
ٱلْحُوتِ
(of) the fish
إِذْ
when
نَادَىٰ
he called out
وَهُوَ
while he
مَكْظُومٌ
(was) distressed

Faisbir lihukmi rabbika wala takun kasahibi alhooti ith nada wahuwa makthoomun

Sahih International:

Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muhammad], and be not like the companion of the fish when he called out while he was distressed.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [68] Al-Qalam : 49

لَوۡلَاۤ اَنۡ تَدٰرَكَهٗ نِعۡمَةٌ مِّنۡ رَّبِّهٖ لَنُبِذَ بِالۡعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ مَذۡمُوۡمٌ‏(القلم :49)

لَّوْلَآ
If not
أَن
that
تَدَٰرَكَهُۥ
overtook him
نِعْمَةٌ
a Favor
مِّن
from
رَّبِّهِۦ
his Lord
لَنُبِذَ
surely he would have been thrown
بِٱلْعَرَآءِ
onto (the) naked shore
وَهُوَ
while he
مَذْمُومٌ
(was) blamed

Lawla an tadarakahu ni'matun min rabbihi lanubitha bial'arai wahuwa mathmoomun

Sahih International:

If not that a favor from his Lord overtook him, he would have been thrown onto the naked shore while he was censured.

Tafsir (More Translations)
Surah [68] Al-Qalam : 50

فَاجۡتَبٰهُ رَبُّهٗ فَجَعَلَهٗ مِنَ الصّٰلِحِيۡنَ(القلم :50)

فَٱجْتَبَٰهُ
But chose him
رَبُّهُۥ
his Lord
فَجَعَلَهُۥ
and made him
مِنَ
of
ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
the righteous

Faijtabahu rabbuhu faja'alahu mina alssaliheena

Sahih International:

And his Lord chose him and made him of the righteous.
