وَاِذَاۤ اَرَدۡنَاۤ اَنۡ نُّهۡلِكَ قَرۡيَةً اَمَرۡنَا مُتۡرَفِيۡهَا فَفَسَقُوۡا فِيۡهَا فَحَقَّ عَلَيۡهَا الۡقَوۡلُ فَدَمَّرۡنٰهَا تَدۡمِيۡرًا(الإسراء :16)
Waitha aradna an nuhlika qaryatan amarna mutrafeeha fafasaqoo feeha fahaqqa 'alayha alqawlu fadammarnaha tadmeeran
Sahih International:
And when We intend to destroy a city, We command its affluent but they defiantly disobey therein; so the word comes into effect upon it, and We destroy it with [complete] destruction.
حَتّٰۤى اِذَاۤ اَخَذۡنَا مُتۡـرَفِيۡهِمۡ بِالۡعَذَابِ اِذَا هُمۡ يَجۡـــَٔرُوۡنَؕ(المؤمنون :64)
Hatta itha akhathna mutrafeehim bial'athabi itha hum yajaroona
Sahih International:
Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah ] for help.
وَلَا يَاۡتَلِ اُولُوا الۡـفَضۡلِ مِنۡكُمۡ وَالسَّعَةِ اَنۡ يُّؤۡتُوۡۤا اُولِى الۡقُرۡبٰى وَالۡمَسٰكِيۡنَ وَالۡمُهٰجِرِيۡنَ فِىۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِ ۖ وَلۡيَـعۡفُوۡا وَلۡيَـصۡفَحُوۡا ؕ اَلَا تُحِبُّوۡنَ اَنۡ يَّغۡفِرَ اللّٰهُ لَـكُمۡ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ غَفُوۡرٌ رَّحِيۡمٌ(النور :22)
Wala yatali oloo alfadli minkum waalssa'ati an yutoo olee alqurba waalmasakeena waalmuhajireena fee sabeeli Allahi walya'foo walyasfahoo ala tuhibboona an yaghfira Allahu lakum waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun
Sahih International:
And let not those of virtue among you and wealth swear not to give [aid] to their relatives and the needy and the emigrants for the cause of Allah, and let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
وَمَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَا فِىۡ قَرۡيَةٍ مِّنۡ نَّذِيۡرٍ اِلَّا قَالَ مُتۡـرَفُوۡهَاۤ ۙاِنَّا بِمَاۤ اُرۡسِلۡـتُمۡ بِهٖ كٰفِرُوۡنَ(سبإ :34)
Wama arsalna fee qaryatin min natheerin illa qala mutrafooha inna bima orsiltum bihi kafiroona
Sahih International:
And We did not send into a city any warner except that its affluent said, "Indeed we, in that with which you were sent, are disbelievers."
وَكَذٰلِكَ مَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَا مِنۡ قَبۡلِكَ فِىۡ قَرۡيَةٍ مِّنۡ نَّذِيۡرٍ اِلَّا قَالَ مُتۡرَفُوۡهَاۤ اِنَّا وَجَدۡنَاۤ اٰبَآءَنَا عَلٰٓى اُمَّةٍ وَّاِنَّا عَلٰٓى اٰثٰرِهِمۡ مُّقۡتَدُوۡنَ(الزخرف :23)
Wakathalika ma arsalna min qablika fee qaryatin min natheerin illa qala mutrafooha inna wajadna abaana 'ala ommatin wainna 'ala atharihim muqtadoona
Sahih International:
And similarly, We did not send before you any warner into a city except that its affluent said, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are, in their footsteps, following."
