وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتُمُ الَّذِيۡنَ اعۡتَدَوۡا مِنۡكُمۡ فِىۡ السَّبۡتِ فَقُلۡنَا لَهُمۡ كُوۡنُوۡا قِرَدَةً خَاسِـِٔـيۡنَ ۚ(البقرة :65)
Walaqad 'alimtumu allatheena i'tadaw minkum fee alssabti faqulna lahum koonoo qiradatan khasieena
Sahih International:
And you had already known about those who transgressed among you concerning the sabbath, and We said to them, "Be apes, despised."
وَرَفَعۡنَا فَوۡقَهُمُ الطُّوۡرَ بِمِيۡثَاقِهِمۡ وَقُلۡنَا لَهُمُ ادۡخُلُوا الۡبَابَ سُجَّدًا وَّقُلۡنَا لَهُمۡ لَا تَعۡدُوۡا فِى السَّبۡتِ وَاَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُمۡ مِّيۡثَاقًا غَلِيۡظًا(النساء :154)
Warafa'na fawqahumu alttoora bimeethaqihim waqulna lahumu odkhuloo albaba sujjadan waqulna lahum la ta'doo fee alssabti waakhathna minhum meethaqan ghaleethan
Sahih International:
And We raised over them the mount for [refusal of] their covenant; and We said to them, "Enter the gate bowing humbly", and We said to them, "Do not transgress on the sabbath", and We took from them a solemn covenant.
فَبِمَا نَقۡضِهِمۡ مِّيۡثَاقَهُمۡ وَكُفۡرِهِمۡ بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ وَقَتۡلِهِمُ الۡاَنۡۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيۡرِ حَقٍّ وَّقَوۡلِهِمۡ قُلُوۡبُنَا غُلۡفٌ ؕ بَلۡ طَبَعَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيۡهَا بِكُفۡرِهِمۡ فَلَا يُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ اِلَّا قَلِيۡلًا(النساء :155)
Fabima naqdihim meethaqahum wakufrihim biayati Allahi waqatlihimu alanbiyaa bighayri haqqin waqawlihim quloobuna ghulfun bal taba'a Allahu 'alayha bikufrihim fala yuminoona illa qaleelan
Sahih International:
And [We cursed them] for their breaking of the covenant and their disbelief in the signs of Allah and their killing of the prophets without right and their saying, "Our hearts are wrapped". Rather, Allah has sealed them because of their disbelief, so they believe not, except for a few.
وَسْــــَٔـلْهُمْ عَنِ الۡـقَرۡيَةِ الَّتِىۡ كَانَتۡ حَاضِرَةَ الۡبَحۡرِۘ اِذۡ يَعۡدُوۡنَ فِى السَّبۡتِ اِذۡ تَاۡتِيۡهِمۡ حِيۡتَانُهُمۡ يَوۡمَ سَبۡتِهِمۡ شُرَّعًا وَّيَوۡمَ لَا يَسۡبِتُوۡنَ ۙ لَا تَاۡتِيۡهِمۡ ۛۚ كَذٰلِكَ ۛۚ نَبۡلُوۡهُمۡ بِمَا كَانُوۡا يَفۡسُقُوۡنَ(الأعراف :163)
Waisalhum 'ani alqaryati allatee kanat hadirata albahri ith ya'doona fee alssabti ith tateehim heetanuhum yawma sabtihim shurra'an wayawma la yasbitoona la tateehim kathalika nabloohum bima kanoo yafsuqoona
Sahih International:
And ask them about the town that was by the sea - when they transgressed in [the matter of] the sabbath - when their fish came to them openly on their sabbath day, and the day they had no sabbath they did not come to them. Thus did We give them trial because they were defiantly disobedient.
وَاِذۡ قَالَتۡ اُمَّةٌ مِّنۡهُمۡ لِمَ تَعِظُوۡنَ قَوۡمَاْ ۙ اۨللّٰهُ مُهۡلِكُهُمۡ اَوۡ مُعَذِّبُهُمۡ عَذَابًا شَدِيۡدًا ؕ قَالُوۡا مَعۡذِرَةً اِلٰى رَبِّكُمۡ وَلَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَّقُوۡنَ(الأعراف :164)
Waith qalat ommatun minhum lima ta'ithoona qawman Allahu muhlikuhum aw mu'aththibuhum 'athaban shadeedan qaloo ma'thiratan ila rabbikum wala'allahum yattaqoona
Sahih International:
And when a community among them said, "Why do you advise [or warn] a people whom Allah is [about] to destroy or to punish with a severe punishment?" they [the advisors] said, "To be absolved before your Lord and perhaps they may fear Him."
فَلَمَّا نَسُوۡا مَا ذُكِّرُوۡا بِهٖۤ اَنۡجَيۡنَا الَّذِيۡنَ يَنۡهَوۡنَ عَنِ السُّوۡۤءِ وَاَخَذۡنَا الَّذِيۡنَ ظَلَمُوۡا بِعَذَابٍۭ بَــِٕيۡسٍۭ بِمَا كَانُوۡا يَفۡسُقُوۡنَ(الأعراف :165)
Falamma nasoo ma thukkiroo bihi anjayna allatheena yanhawna 'ani alssooi waakhathna allatheena thalamoo bi'athabin baeesin bima kanoo yafsuqoona
Sahih International:
And when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We saved those who had forbidden evil and seized those who wronged, with a wretched punishment, because they were defiantly disobeying.
فَلَمَّا عَتَوۡا عَنۡ مَّا نُهُوۡا عَنۡهُ قُلۡنَا لَهُمۡ كُوۡنُوۡا قِرَدَةً خٰسِـٮِٕیْنَ(الأعراف :166)
Falamma 'ataw 'an ma nuhoo 'anhu qulna lahum koonoo qiradatan khasieena
Sahih International:
So when they were insolent about that which they had been forbidden, We said to them, "Be apes, despised."
