وَمِمَّنۡ حَوۡلَــكُمۡ مِّنَ الۡاَعۡرَابِ مُنٰفِقُوۡنَ ۛؕ وَمِنۡ اَهۡلِ الۡمَدِيۡنَةِ ؔۛ مَرَدُوۡا عَلَى النِّفَاقِ لَا تَعۡلَمُهُمۡ ؕ نَحۡنُ نَـعۡلَمُهُمۡ ؕ سَنُعَذِّبُهُمۡ مَّرَّتَيۡنِ ثُمَّ يُرَدُّوۡنَ اِلٰى عَذَابٍ عَظِيۡمٍ(التوبة :101)
Wamimman hawlakum mina ala'rabi munafiqoona wamin ahli almadeenati maradoo 'ala alnnifaqi la ta'lamuhum nahnu na'lamuhum sanu'aththibuhum marratayni thumma yuraddoona ila 'athabin 'atheemin
Sahih International:
And among those around you of the bedouins are hypocrites, and [also] from the people of Madinah. They have become accustomed to hypocrisy. You, [O Muhammad], do not know them, [but] We know them. We will punish them twice [in this world]; then they will be returned to a great punishment.
مَا كَانَ لِاَهۡلِ الۡمَدِيۡنَةِ وَمَنۡ حَوۡلَهُمۡ مِّنَ الۡاَعۡرَابِ اَنۡ يَّتَخَلَّفُوۡا عَنۡ رَّسُوۡلِ اللّٰهِ وَ لَا يَرۡغَبُوۡا بِاَنۡفُسِهِمۡ عَنۡ نَّـفۡسِهٖ ؕ ذٰ لِكَ بِاَنَّهُمۡ لَا يُصِيۡبُهُمۡ ظَمَاٌ وَّلَا نَصَبٌ وَّلَا مَخۡمَصَةٌ فِىۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِ وَلَا يَطَـُٔــوۡنَ مَوۡطِئًا يَّغِيۡظُ الۡكُفَّارَ وَلَا يَنَالُوۡنَ مِنۡ عَدُوٍّ نَّيۡلاً اِلَّا كُتِبَ لَهُمۡ بِهٖ عَمَلٌ صَالِحٌ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُضِيۡعُ اَجۡرَ الۡمُحۡسِنِيۡنَۙ(التوبة :120)
Ma kana liahli almadeenati waman hawlahum mina ala'rabi an yatakhallafoo 'an rasooli Allahi wala yarghaboo bianfusihim 'an nafsihi thalika biannahum la yuseebuhum thamaon wala nasabun wala makhmasatun fee sabeeli Allahi wala yataoona mawtian yagheethu alkuffara wala yanaloona min 'aduwwin naylan illa kutiba lahum bihi 'amalun salihun inna Allaha la yudee'u ajra almuhsineena
Sahih International:
It was not [proper] for the people of Madinah and those surrounding them of the bedouins that they remain behind after [the departure of] the Messenger of Allah or that they prefer themselves over his self. That is because they are not afflicted by thirst or fatigue or hunger in the cause of Allah, nor do they tread on any ground that enrages the disbelievers, nor do they inflict upon an enemy any infliction but that is registered for them as a righteous deed. Indeed, Allah does not allow to be lost the reward of the doers of good.
وَاِذۡ قَالَتۡ طَّآٮِٕفَةٌ مِّنۡهُمۡ يٰۤـاَهۡلَ يَثۡرِبَ لَا مُقَامَ لَكُمۡ فَارۡجِعُوۡا ۚ وَيَسۡتَاۡذِنُ فَرِيۡقٌ مِّنۡهُمُ النَّبِىَّ يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ اِنَّ بُيُوۡتَنَا عَوۡرَةٌ ۛؕ وَمَا هِىَ بِعَوۡرَةٍ ۛۚ اِنۡ يُّرِيۡدُوۡنَ اِلَّا فِرَارًا(الأحزاب :13)
Waith qalat taifatun minhum ya ahla yathriba la muqama lakum fairji'oo wayastathinu fareequn minhumu alnnabiyya yaqooloona inna buyootana 'awratun wama hiya bi'awratin in yureedoona illa firaran
Sahih International:
And when a faction of them said, "O people of Yathrib, there is no stability for you [here], so return [home]." And a party of them asked permission of the Prophet, saying, "Indeed, our houses are unprotected," while they were not exposed. They did not intend except to flee.
لَٮِٕنۡ لَّمۡ يَنۡتَهِ الۡمُنٰفِقُوۡنَ وَ الَّذِيۡنَ فِى قُلُوۡبِهِمۡ مَّرَضٌ وَّالۡمُرۡجِفُوۡنَ فِى الۡمَدِيۡنَةِ لَـنُغۡرِيَـنَّكَ بِهِمۡ ثُمَّ لَا يُجَاوِرُوۡنَكَ فِيۡهَاۤ اِلَّا قَلِيۡلًا(الأحزاب :60)
Lain lam yantahi almunafiqoona waallatheena fee quloobihim maradun waalmurjifoona fee almadeenati lanughriyannaka bihim thumma la yujawiroonaka feeha illa qaleelan
Sahih International:
If the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is disease and those who spread rumors in al-Madinah do not cease, We will surely incite you against them; then they will not remain your neighbors therein except for a little.
وَالَّذِيۡنَ تَبَوَّؤُ الدَّارَ وَالۡاِيۡمَانَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِمۡ يُحِبُّوۡنَ مَنۡ هَاجَرَ اِلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا يَجِدُوۡنَ فِىۡ صُدُوۡرِهِمۡ حَاجَةً مِّمَّاۤ اُوۡتُوۡا وَيُـؤۡثِرُوۡنَ عَلٰٓى اَنۡفُسِهِمۡ وَلَوۡ كَانَ بِهِمۡ خَصَاصَةٌ ؕ وَمَنۡ يُّوۡقَ شُحَّ نَـفۡسِهٖ فَاُولٰٓٮِٕكَ هُمُ الۡمُفۡلِحُوۡنَۚ(الحشر :9)
Waallatheena tabawwaoo alddara waaleemana min qablihim yuhibboona man hajara ilayhim wala yajidoona fee sudoorihim hajatan mimma ootoo wayuthiroona 'ala anfusihim walaw kana bihim khasasatun waman yooqa shuhha nafsihi faolaika humu almuflihoona
Sahih International:
And [also for] those who were settled in al-Madinah and [adopted] the faith before them. They love those who emigrated to them and find not any want in their breasts of what the emigrants were given but give [them] preference over themselves, even though they are in privation. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.
يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ لَٮِٕنۡ رَّجَعۡنَاۤ اِلَى الۡمَدِيۡنَةِ لَيُخۡرِجَنَّ الۡاَعَزُّ مِنۡهَا الۡاَذَلَّ ؕ وَلِلّٰهِ الۡعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُوۡلِهٖ وَلِلۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ وَلٰـكِنَّ الۡمُنٰفِقِيۡنَ لَا يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ(المنافقون :8)
Yaqooloona lain raja'na ila almadeenati layukhrijanna ala'azzu minha alathalla walillahi al'izzatu walirasoolihi walilmumineena walakinna almunafiqeena la ya'lamoona
Sahih International:
They say, "If we return to al-Madinah, the more honored [for power] will surely expel therefrom the more humble." And to Allah belongs [all] honor, and to His Messenger, and to the believers, but the hypocrites do not know.
