فَلۡيَـضۡحَكُوۡا قَلِيۡلاً وَّلۡيَبۡكُوۡا كَثِيۡرًا ۚ جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوۡا يَكۡسِبُوۡنَ(التوبة :82)
Falyadhakoo qaleelan walyabkoo katheeran jazaan bima kanoo yaksiboona
Sahih International:
So let them laugh a little and [then] weep much as recompense for what they used to earn.
وَجَآءُوۡۤ اَبَاهُمۡ عِشَآءً يَّبۡكُوۡنَؕ(يوسف :16)
Wajaoo abahum 'ishaan yabkoona
Sahih International:
And they came to their father at night, weeping.
وَيَخِرُّوۡنَ لِلۡاَذۡقَانِ يَبۡكُوۡنَ وَيَزِيۡدُهُمۡ خُشُوۡعًا ۩(الإسراء :109)
Wayakhirroona lilathqani yabkoona wayazeeduhum khushoo'an
Sahih International:
And they fall upon their faces weeping, and the Qur'an increases them in humble submission.
اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ الَّذِيۡنَ اَنۡعَمَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ مِّنَ النَّبِيّٖنَ مِنۡ ذُرِّيَّةِ اٰدَمَ وَمِمَّنۡ حَمَلۡنَا مَعَ نُوۡحٍ وَّمِنۡ ذُرِّيَّةِ اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ وَاِسۡرَآءِيۡلَ وَمِمَّنۡ هَدَيۡنَا وَاجۡتَبَيۡنَا ؕ اِذَا تُتۡلٰى عَلَيۡهِمۡ اٰيٰتُ الرَّحۡمٰنِ خَرُّوۡا سُجَّدًا وَّبُكِيًّا ۩(مريم :58)
Olaika allatheena an'ama Allahu 'alayhim mina alnnabiyyeena min thurriyyati adama wamimman hamalna ma'a noohin wamin thurriyyati ibraheema waisraeela wamimman hadayna waijtabayna itha tutla 'alayhim ayatu alrrahmani kharroo sujjadan wabukiyyan
Sahih International:
Those were the ones upon whom Allah bestowed favor from among the prophets of the descendants of Adam and of those We carried [in the ship] with Noah, and of the descendants of Abraham and Israel, and of those whom We guided and chose. When the verses of the Most Merciful were recited to them, they fell in prostration and weeping.
فَمَا بَكَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمُ السَّمَآءُ وَالۡاَرۡضُ وَمَا كَانُوۡا مُنۡظَرِيۡنَ(الدخان :29)
Fama bakat 'alayhimu alssamao waalardu wama kanoo munthareena
Sahih International:
And the heaven and earth wept not for them, nor were they reprieved.
وَاَنَّهٗ هُوَ اَضۡحَكَ وَاَبۡكٰىۙ(النجم :43)
Waannahu huwa adhaka waabka
Sahih International:
And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep
