زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ الشَّهَوٰتِ مِنَ النِّسَآءِ وَالۡبَـنِيۡنَ وَالۡقَنَاطِيۡرِ الۡمُقَنۡطَرَةِ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالۡفِضَّةِ وَالۡخَـيۡلِ الۡمُسَوَّمَةِ وَالۡاَنۡعَامِ وَالۡحَـرۡثِؕ ذٰ لِكَ مَتَاعُ الۡحَيٰوةِ الدُّنۡيَا ۚ وَاللّٰهُ عِنۡدَهٗ حُسۡنُ الۡمَاٰبِ (آل عمران :14)
Zuyyina lilnnasi hubbu alshshahawati mina alnnisai waalbaneena waalqanateeri almuqantarati mina alththahabi waalfiddati waalkhayli almusawwamati waalan'ami waalharthi thalika mata'u alhayati alddunya waAllahu 'indahu husnu almaabi
Sahih International:
Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire - of women and sons, heaped-up sums of gold and silver, fine branded horses, and cattle and tilled land. That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but Allah has with Him the best return.
وَّالۡخَـيۡلَ وَالۡبِغَالَ وَالۡحَمِيۡرَ لِتَرۡكَبُوۡهَا وَزِيۡنَةً ؕ وَيَخۡلُقُ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ(النحل :8)
Waalkhayla waalbighala waalhameera litarkabooha wazeenatan wayakhluqu ma la ta'lamoona
Sahih International:
And [He created] the horses, mules and donkeys for you to ride and [as] adornment. And He creates that which you do not know.
وَاسۡتَفۡزِزۡ مَنِ اسۡتَطَعۡتَ مِنۡهُمۡ بِصَوۡتِكَ وَاَجۡلِبۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ بِخَيۡلِكَ وَرَجِلِكَ وَشَارِكۡهُمۡ فِى الۡاَمۡوَالِ وَالۡاَوۡلَادِ وَعِدۡهُمۡ ؕ وَمَا يَعِدُهُمُ الشَّيۡطٰنُ اِلَّا غُرُوۡرًا(الإسراء :64)
Waistafziz mani istata'ta minhum bisawtika waajlib 'alayhim bikhaylika warajlika washarikhum fee alamwali waalawladi wa'idhum wama ya'iduhumu alshshaytanu illa ghurooran
Sahih International:
And incite [to senselessness] whoever you can among them with your voice and assault them with your horses and foot soldiers and become a partner in their wealth and their children and promise them." But Satan does not promise them except delusion.
اِذۡ عُرِضَ عَلَيۡهِ بِالۡعَشِىِّ الصّٰفِنٰتُ الۡجِيَادُ(ص :31)
Ith 'urida 'alayhi bial'ashiyyi alssafinatu aljiyadu
Sahih International:
[Mention] when there were exhibited before him in the afternoon the poised [standing] racehorses.
فَقَالَ اِنِّىۡۤ اَحۡبَبۡتُ حُبَّ الۡخَيۡرِ عَنۡ ذِكۡرِ رَبِّىۡۚ حَتّٰى تَوَارَتۡ بِالۡحِجَابِ(ص :32)
Faqala innee ahbabtu hubba alkhayri 'an thikri rabbee hatta tawarat bialhijabi
Sahih International:
And he said, "Indeed, I gave preference to the love of good [things] over the remembrance of my Lord until the sun disappeared into the curtain [of darkness]."
رُدُّوۡهَا عَلَىَّ ؕ فَطَفِقَ مَسۡحًۢا بِالسُّوۡقِ وَ الۡاَعۡنَاقِ(ص :33)
Ruddooha 'alayya fatafiqa mashan bialssooqi waala'naqi
Sahih International:
[He said], "Return them to me," and set about striking [their] legs and necks.
وَمَاۤ اَفَآءَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى رَسُوۡلِهٖ مِنۡهُمۡ فَمَاۤ اَوۡجَفۡتُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ خَيۡلٍ وَّلَا رِكَابٍ وَّلٰڪِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُسَلِّطُ رُسُلَهٗ عَلٰى مَنۡ يَّشَآءُ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىۡءٍ قَدِيۡرٌ(الحشر :6)
Wama afaa Allahu 'ala rasoolihi minhum fama awjaftum 'alayhi min khaylin wala rikabin walakinna Allaha yusallitu rusulahu 'ala man yashao waAllahu 'ala kulli shayin qadeerun
Sahih International:
And what Allah restored [of property] to His Messenger from them - you did not spur for it [in an expedition] any horses or camels, but Allah gives His messengers power over whom He wills, and Allah is over all things competent.
وَالۡعٰدِيٰتِ ضَبۡحًا(العاديات :1)
Waal'adiyati dabhan
Sahih International:
By the racers, panting,
فَالۡمُوۡرِيٰتِ قَدۡحًا(العاديات :2)
Faalmooriyati qadhan
Sahih International:
And the producers of sparks [when] striking
فَالۡمُغِيۡرٰتِ صُبۡحًا(العاديات :3)
Faalmugheerati subhan
Sahih International:
And the chargers at dawn,
